You know, I want to see Fatality and some other Quake pros do a test. I want to see them play Call of Duty, and if they do well, it'll be the final step in proving to everyone else that the game is a complete step down with the skill ceiling. We ourselves already know this, but the rest of the world is blind.

+zRexx What do you expect? A CoD vet is obviously going to rape any player regardless of his level in Quake if he is new to the game. Its apples and oranges. The two games have completely different playstyles and weapons. You think them playing CoD is going to prove anything other than they aren't good as the players who have been playing CoD for years?

All the Quake player has to do is know the spawns, and understand how the mechanics work. And then know where to camp. In G.I. Joe, they always say "Knowing is half the battle", but with this, knowing IS the battle, and knowing doesn't take that long. What sounds more challenging? Aiming three rapid hitscan shots on a sitting duck that cannot dodge in the slightest. Or having to land 20 rounds of an Quake 3 Machinegun, on a target which can move at a very fast default speed and shift direction on a dime? Any "skill" in Call of Duty is covered in Quake 3's gameplay, but tons of extra stuff layered on top of it.

+zRexx what is ur fucking problem? u obviously dont know what the hell ur talking about. U wouldnt say this shit if you would have any clue about cod/cs etc PRO scene. quake is nothing more than aim battles and getting megahealth/armor or keeping the enemy away from it. cod for example is a teamgame, one fact a quake player would lack on. also game mechanics and strategical approaches are like totally different. i dont even know why im explaining this to u, but i haven heard such crap in a long time :D

Fair enough, ty for replying. I guess it is dead compared to what it was yeah, I just got into quake live duel. Watched the finals and games between players like Rapha, Cooler Strenx e.t.c. Any tips on getting good aim?

he doesnt really play major tournies anymore, but hes made a ton of money and owns his own gaming company that sells stuff like mice keyboards and headsets. and he provides a practice house for other quake players. hes still really good but players like cypher, rapha, cooller and dahang have been most dominant recently i think. (cooller just retired though). there is no on screen timer, he just memorizes item spawn times. RA and YA = 25 second respawn. mega= 35 second respawn. weapons are 5

Couple of noob questions: Is Fatal1ty still considered the best at this game, or is that a silly question? How does he know when the armour and mega are appearing, or does he have an on-screen timer?

I know this is an old comment but I wanted to clarify. There were unofficial on-screen timers that people used but most pros didn't use them and they weren't allowed in competitive play. The best players like Fatal1ty memorized the timings of each item and were able to track the spawn times by memory and intuition.

Yeah, the only active competitive games now are css/cs:go and quake live...the old uts, old quakes, cs 1.6 etc arent played much today...we just get cod, bf, wow, league of legends and more :|
