@@zacharyschwartz5037 I got to agree. To me Mario was ironically at his best in Melee despite being in the center of tier list. I've hated playing him ever since Smash 4 cause hes not the same character in a lot of ways. He plays so differently now. His easiest combos are so boring and monotonous to do but they're his most efficient combos all the time so you're kind of forced to do it if you want to win consistently. But it's the same stuff you've seen before, every match is the same. Ultimate Mario has some cool stuff but to me he just doesnt play the same as he used to. My devotion to the character is never ending but I keep trying to come back to him only to find he just doesnt play the way I want him to anymore. He doesnt fit my play.

I'm going to be honest with you. The matchup is in favor of Captain Falcon (+1). I'm a Mario main and I can just not beat Captain Falcon in Elite Smash because Mario struggles to kill, Captain Falcon's combos are safer and he approaches Mario easily because of his insane speed.

Mario has tools to gimp falcon at early percents. Can kill him in combos near the ledge as early as 30%, and can ladder him off the top. His smash attacks are powerful, quick, and fairly disjointed. He can just throw out a fireballs for a free approach and his bait and punish game is a lot better then Falcon’s. I fail to see how exactly how Mario struggles in this MU.

Mario is so stressful to fight... he gets so much free damage just hitting buttons with huge safe air attacks. At later percents he can just rob stocks with insanely fast and powerful smash attacks as well. If you don't have the range to make him behave he is so painful to fight, having to worry about all his absolute non-sense and how safe it is. You can rarely ever play a bait and punish game with him. x_X
