Sunrise with Tony and Yusuf, very nice indeed!! WOW, that trail was brutal Tony! Looks like someone got some new bars? I enjoyed watching this take care and stay safe!!

Hey Yens. That place is tough. Very little smooth trail and a full suspension fatty would be perfect but that's way above my pay grade. Lol. That's a Jones H loop bar with 2.5" rise. I love those. ✌
@shovelhead8 Жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with "smoothing it". Some of those trails would have had my brakes glowing red hot. I bet that queen sized air mattress felt good that night. Thank you for taking us along, Tony. Stay safe and stay cool

Nice touch with the Jones H bar on your ride. But shirts on hangers in your tent? Were you planning on heading to the dance hall after dinner? 🤣

You can't be too prepared to spend a week out there. I thought maybe someone would bring the party to me. Lol

Hey Tony, looks like your staying in a 4 star hotel with that setup. Beautiful country and trails. Although some looked a bit challenging. Thanks for the great adventure! Take care, Steve

Hi Steve. That was a bit different from my normal setup. Haha. I knew I would be staying for about a week so I wanted to be comfortable and I was 😁 It was a bit rugged and I felt it. I'll probably stick to the roads a little more although I am a glutton for punishment at times. Good to hear from you and I hope y'all are doing well.

That looked challenging to say the least. I bet it was one of the toughest 40 miles you've ridden!

That's tough on an old guy Jay. It helps to be a glutton for punishment. I didn't get to ride all the trails out there but I tried. Lol

Nice ride! And nice setup. Do you mind letting me know which number campsite that is?

That looks like a great place go. But it doesn't appear to have hookups for our camper (the wife insists) and we would have to stay in Medina or so!?. Really like the use of the Morning has Broken song. Many times the spiritual aspect of nature is why "the best thing for your inside, is outside"!
@BluecollarBackcountry Жыл бұрын
There is an equestrian camp area with electric hookups but no sewer or dump station. It was empty most of the time but someone in an Airstream did pull in the morning I left.

Hey Tony great video where is this located

60 miles west of San Antonio. 5,000 acres and 40 miles of trail. ✌

That looked like an adventure! My backside hurts just watching. Don’t care for yucca! I have a mess of that stuff out here! It will getcha! Be like “crash up on interstate yucca!”

Oh! You should see my shins. Hahaha. They looks like an interstate crash. Lol ✌

At first I thought you may be overdoing your “hotel-like” amenities... large tent, big bed, nice soft chair, propane heat, dry cleaned change of clothing..... then after that ride I am thinking you didn’t bring enough... I would need a heating pad, a jacuzzi and a professional masseuse ... and a big tall cold beer, or three. 🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 12:27

Hey Chris! I figured a week of beating myself like that, I at least deserved a few luxuries. Hahaha I ate good, slept good and maybe a beer or three 🤓

Oh.. "ICE CREAM Hill"...I thought that you called it "I SCREAM Hill"!!! I was looking forward to seeing what kind of a hill would earn THAT name! LOL! How far is this place from San Antonio? We are going to have.a few hours to loafer around and would love to get out and do a hike while we are in Texas!

@@BluecollarBackcountry That may be just the place for us to check out! Shan has said that she wants to see the Hill Country. Suggestions for hikes there? We will just have a few hours, so a day hike would be ideal.
@BluecollarBackcountry Жыл бұрын
The Bandera loop trail I was on coupled with the Wilderness trail makes about a 1 hour hike and the Wilderness trail and Twin Peaks trail is about 3 1/2 miles with some scenic views. About 1 1/2 hours. They give a pretty nice trail map when you check in and the rangers there are really friendly and can give much more information. ✌

Nice I see shin, elbow, arm and knee guards might be a good idea. I lived in Arizona for a few years and they have what is called the jumping Cholla Cactus it seemed to find and attack me whether I was riding or hiking, people carried combs to get them off. (For those who don't know Cholla is pronounced Choy Ahh)
@BluecollarBackcountry Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, my shins look like they met a cheese grater. We have the tree cholla and its a beautiful cactus especially at the end of spring when it blooms but not the jumping cholla, but from what I have seen you are welcome to keep it there. Hahaha ✌
