theyve done this a couple of times already actually. my favorite was when they did it in gudaguda3 when okita alter recovered her memories of a counterguardian and sent herself master and the sludge demon guy into the ''boundless world'' which stripped him of his authority so he was defeatable. i think this was done in the final duel in shimosa too but cant be certain. though not through a battle, the entire cutscene segment of melt launching herself into kiara sinking into the center of the earth with spinal swan coaster I to III was just fantastic. game finished selling me on melt who i was despising even before the event and even more cause she spooked me TWICE when i wanted Plip (and she only came following year...) but after the whole event and that scene i was glad i had her. i wish theyve done that in shinjuku on the final round against moriarty, EORs grand battle theme IS SO good for shinjukus setting.

I just did this fight today. And my god I've never gotten so hype for an event boss fight. I liked all gudagudas but this went above and beyond. Not only did the event gift us with Vergil but with one of the coolest grand battles ever with one of the best tracks. I loved this event through and through.

Himiko himiko, miko himiko Miko miko himiko miko himiko I see it! A bountiful harvest, and everyone is smiling! Seishin kyuuen kyo! Can I just mention how absolutely adorable this is? Plus, it makes me soft to hear her be so happy about knowing everyone she cares for will have food to eat. Like, nowadays most of us think nothing of it, but Himiko goes through Chaldea getting amazed at how safe everyone is. How happy everyone can be, how they don't have to worry about weather or lacking food or shelter, or just suddenly dying from sickness. Seeing someone whose mind only knows how harsh the old world was makes me remember how many pointy situations have been polished to be safer and we've made places more liveable for ourselves. I don't know, she triggers a lot of happy emotion

I said that about the finale because the ending starts with a skeleton boss which has been the end boss in several other events (Nergal in Eresh Christmas and Xu Fu in summer 5 to give a couple examples) so I was bummed at first thinking guda5 was ending with that-but then we ended up getting this song and a unique boss.

Since we're in the rerun now, feels like a good time to mention another reason why this song is such a fucken BANGER. Plays during the big fight against Kamo. Himiko has just been consumed ENTIRELY in darkness and has access to none of her 5 senses. She stays calm and uses her Mirror to wait for a chance to help. She SUMMONS HERSELF AS A SERVANT and then uses her mirror to fuse with her Servant self and becomes "Super Himiko" (which is why she is buffed to SHIT in that battle)

@@catastros654 You forget because GudaGuda is mostly hijinks (and I don't think Himiko has gotten a ton of focus elsewhere), but she's absolutely broken as a Servant. She's super strong, her mirrors have more computational power than fucking SHEBA and can see the future and even alter it to an extent. Not to mention her light powers. Easily a top tier Servant if she's being serious.

Just coming here to say I cried when this played. If I haven't listened to the original, I wouldn't have been filled with so much emotion during the final boss. God, I will never stop loving FGO. Edit: For some reason, I'm sobbing now. I don't know why. I guessed I'm very grateful FGO exist. I don't care how many Gacha games came after FGO. FGO is the only Gacha game I will stick around to the end. I'm very glad to be alive. If life screws me over, at least I have something to keep me going.
