"What would you do if you were taken away from your family? Taken to a world that was completely alien to your own, blindfolded and imprisoned? You can’t see. You don’t understand. You don’t get what’s going on. You can barely hear above the whirlwind of distortion which seems to surreally encircle you. Several times a day to are pushed onto a stage in front of what you can feel is a huge audience of alien beings, staring and screaming and applauding as you, at the signal of a sharp whistle, go through certain patterns of tricks- or ‘behaviors’, as they call them. For them it’s a show- totally entertaining. But for you it’s payment for a meal. You live in a small, sterile cell about the size of a phone booth. Sometimes you live here entirely alone, and at other times there are a couple others living with you, who are also blindfolded, and equally disoriented. If this happened to you- just imagine it for a moment -if this seriously happened to you… how would you feel? Maybe…depressed? Naturally. But when you’re performing you look happy. Your face is painted. You’re smiling. Grinning. Beaming at the alien audience in front of your face. No one knows how you really feel. No one knows about what’s going on inside of you. Or where you came from. Or how you got here. And your caretakers? Well, they tell the audience- the alien beings who are coming to watch you perform -that they shouldn't worry about you. You're here for scientific purposes. Research. You're an ambassador for your species- an awesome representative of the world you came from. You're helping to inspire everyone to help your kind. That’s why you're here. And that’s why you can’t go home. Everyday you attempt to communicate with your caretakers- your trainers. Talking, and signing and trying to somehow ask them questions like 'Why am I here? Why won't you let me go? Why can't I be free?'. But you never seem to make any progress with them. They can’t understand your language whatsoever. You’re literally voiceless in this, frightening, confusing, distressing and foreign world. So eventually, as the years and decades drag on endlessly, You give up. There’s no way you’ll be able to escape. It’s impossible. No one can hear you and no one knows the truth about how you got here. And most importantly, no one knows that you want to go home. You will live and die here and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. How would you feel if that actually happened to you? …And what would you say if I told you this happens all the time? Right here. Amongst us. Around us. Going totally unnoticed? …What would you say if I told you that we are the aliens?" -bluefreedom.org/voiceless/

It is a very nice and clear video. Here in France, Marineland in Antibes has been partially destroyed by floods, tropical fishes and rays are dead... It is supposed to re-open in two weeks. We have been calling for this park to be closed for years, but unfortunately, the movie 'Blackfish' didn't have as much impact in France as in the United States. Last June, the orca Freya died, aged only 36... and dolphins are depressed and bored... :-(

It amazes me that people can even stomach seeing these magnificent, self aware animals in captivity especially with ALL the information out there! Finnally, after she watched it we never went back to that horrible place again. It's not just the whales that are suffering there, it's every animal that is being forced to live in such a confined place with many others and dance or splash us. #blackfish

Even those born in captivity will have deep yearnings to swim far and follow their generation old migrations etc. Keeping any creature of this size in a manmade pool depriving them of all that is nature to them is unacceptable and needs to stop now!!! Watch 'Blackfish' is you need to know more........

Where tf did you get those high life expectancy for both male and female orcas?
@WhalesOrg6 жыл бұрын
These figures can be found widely such as: www.fisheries.noaa.gov/species/killer-whale Granny (J2), a resident orca in the Pacific Northwest, was thought by some researchers to be over 100 years old when she was reported to have died in 2017. news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/01/granny-j2-killer-whale-orca-presumed-dead-washington-puget-sound/ One area of research being undertaken by scientists is looking at why resident female orcas live long after they stop breeding. Along with humans and short-finned pilot whales, they are the only species discovered so far that go through the menopause. phenomena.nationalgeographic.com/2015/03/05/why-killer-whales-go-through-menopause-but-elephants-dont/
@himissgivemeperfectplease83186 жыл бұрын
Whale and Dolphin Conservation is the link you showed me is what you based this video is on, then your video is wrong, your link said 30-90 but you didn’t put 30 there, and 30 is usually the age expectancy an orca male reaches and female is 50, although your video is not all truly since orcas have been seen to reach those age but the usual is 30-50 for both male and female. Granny(J2) is one orca, her age wouldn’t really change life expectancy since she’s just one orca and it’s rare for orcas to reach even 90
@spacebug306 жыл бұрын
These kind of people are good at spreading propaganda. Displaying a maximum age is always extremely misleading. The oldest verified person ever was 122yrs old. If I tell you "humans can live for 122 years!", that would be very wrong. When talking about age, we should talk in medians (not even averages because they can be very misleading too with a few extremes).
@cailinleimbrock38376 жыл бұрын
Imagine being abducted from your family and kept inside a closet for the rest of your life with out proper care. That’s basically what the orcas are being put through. I hope soon these beautiful creatures will be set free and able to live out the rest of their lives peacefully and happily

Example Taiji Japan guys by torturing and slaughtering so evolved creatures as cetaceans during 6 Months every year; 20000 dolphins slaughters each year turn crazy. Those Taiji guys lives are only giving deaths. Taiji guys have lost their minds, their Souls and above all Taiji guys have lost humanity! Japan System of government allow atrocities to repeatedly committed without having any Conscious of the damages on marine Lives, Species and Biodiversity! Japan is only concerned by money, by their greediness and their atrocities, they push us quickly to 6th Extinction

Some say "Orca" some say "Killer Whale". Both are fine. This is the top , TOP predator. They are impressively powerful and determined. They kill much larger prey in dramatic fashion.
