Experience is needed in Electronics and mechanical. In CS and IT you can experience almost all stuffs in ur laptop in ur home. In Electronics you need hands on experience. So initial pay is lesser. Companies can look for fresh employees instead of giving a pay rise for you in IT. So an experienced Electronics engineer is valued much more than experienced IT engineer.

Timely and highly needed advice. I am a mechanical engineer graduated in 1972. Todays mechanical engineering requires knowledge and skill in programming in addition to the skill set of mechanical engineering. In short todays mechanical engineer can do programming but a computer engineer cannot do the job of a mechanical engineer. You could also highlight tool engineering as a career option. It is the backbone of any manufacturing industry.

Neenga over qualified nu solitanga.. coz textile companies ku even 10th padichutu kuda training eduthutu velaiku polam 7k tha salary.. aana nanga engg padichum old technologies tha soli kuduthanga.. 7k ku velaiku pora ponnuku therunja alavu kuda padicha engaluku syllabus la updation ila.. textile la irukura ella field kum training eduthutu job thedi alanjathu tha micham... 10k thandi engayum place agala.. then I've changed my career into marketing field.. athu tha inaiku soru poduthu.. 10 lakhs 4 years ku waste pannathuku naa business school la padichurukalam nu thonuthu.. yes engg ku value iruku tha.. but atha inga irukura clg la padichutu ethir paka kudathu.. course out dated, staffs sari ila, clg management sari ila, apdiye self learn pannalum hire pannika companies ready ah ila... From my clg no one literally no one got placed by a textile company.. my senior, he was hell passionate in textile. He was a role model for us all during our period.. but now he ended up having a electronics shop in his home town.. all my batch mates and seniors ended up having different careers. As u said some are waiting still to get their dream job in the name of jobless and we are 24 by this year. May be one or two like you can get placed brother. But I'm seeing and talking about thousands of persons from my circle. Everyone can wait to get a dream job, but they are waiting to get "just a job". Why should we deserve? Don't judge our feelings ok. Still I'm not talking about the course we choose. I'm talking about the college management and this educational systems and syllabus..

@@vishalmango3545 May be thats why you got a good knowledge from AA+ clg like Kumaraguru. I'm from park clg. And No campus interview was conducted for textile dept. All I was talking about is what we tried personally. Clg like urs give k- studies and current knowledge on syllabus and you may have good lab facilities. But for us the situation was exact opposite. We had lack of staffs for our 3rd and final year. Totally 4 core subjects we learned on our own without any staffs. Then how can a company choose us? This scenario is not our mistake right. That's what I'm trying to explain.

It will put lot of pressure on us with daily test, stayback, cycle test, etc... we can't focus on improving our skills. Even If you somehow choose to improve skills, you will end up with arrears.. This is what I experienced... I'm not satisfied with my Engineering degree 😒

After 4pm there was an evening test in my college until 5pm after that we have to take our buses to reach home at 7 pm.. and even in college we had home work and all after finishing all that we have to study for the next day test.. after finishing all our duties we had to sleep at 10.30pm to wake at 5am to get our clg bus on 6am.. 😒

Correctly said ... And with respect to a financial aspect, average management fees would be 1Lakh because not everyone get scholarships... So investing in a certificate course during college would not be affordable for many. plus staff bullying, pressure , timings , heavy portion, grade system all just made college life similiar to a school environment ...infact school is much better, but here we are treated as machines.....which takes a toll on our mental and physical health. Even practical classes are wasted because staff do not teach things in a practical aspect n even if v learn it on our own, there is no proper environment to execute it.😒

Lack of opportunities. That's a thing. Even if we get a job we are paid in peanuts. That's a big reason why majority of people are moving into IT. If you are civil engineer, the opportunity you get in only 1/10 of what u get in it sector. To sum it up, I will put it like this- You have to be an excellent engineer to get paid an average pay in core sectors. You can be average coder and get a handsome pay in it sector. Infact even core sectors demands it skills these days.

Being technology developing in geometric progression day by day it's better to learn C++ programming language even though u are civil , mechanical... It will help in doing automation... Moreover civil engineering syllabus is outdated.... I struggled for getting good teachers too. Till now 2014 batch B.E civil are jobless....

I wanna share my experience with u all... I belong to civil dept(passed out). While joining clg I was so enthusiastic that I'm gonna learn many new things! But, it was completely contrast of what I expected. Neither they created the interest not I developed it. From 3rd yr, they started placement training. They started to teach us computer science! I questioned them that I belong to civil and so why I must learn computer. They replied that there is no core company coming for placement and if u want to get placed in u have to learn computer science. So, what's the use of civil engineering that I learnt? The dream company offers 30 lpa in CS students whereas we don't even get a single company for civil in the campus! The civil dept topper who has a great interest in civil and always ran for the internships is earning 2.5 lpa now. Whereas a computer science guy of same interest is earning 30 lpa!! Just look at the difference... We both are paying the same fee but why so much difference in the package? U might say experience is important for core dept jobs. If so, y should I pay so much fees in engineering?? That's y I recommend everyone not to take up mech or civil... So, whose mistake is that? At the end of the day, everything boils down to money!

True 💯 My brother is 35 now. He completed 12th only but he tried joining IT companies that days. Finally he got selected and all the required trainings were given by the company and currently he is in US. In earlier days, candidates are low so they took and train them. Now a days even a person with all required skills got rejected bcos of high number of graduates.

The core syllabus (fundamentals) which forms 80% of the course content doesn't need any changes I think. In fact that has to be taught and learnt THOROUGHLY to be an Engineer. But it's only that remaining 20% stuff that needs updating. If the exam questions are SCENARIO based rather than theoretical question and answers , then only we can test the actual knowledge of Engineering students. That will encourage (/force) them to UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPTS rather than mugging it up and vomitting them in additional sheets of exam papers 🙏

For the past 4years there is no admission in civil engineering. But students dont know the reality because they dont have interest to prepare for government jobs. For the past 4years civil department has less admission due to which there will be less competition for government jobs. Students have to use this chance to crack the competitive exam. Most of the north Indians and andhra Walas showing interest for government jobs only especially civil and mechanical students because they know very well that there is more opportunities for civil engineers in govt sector.

Exactly, I feel so bad for the younger generation, they all wanted to start KZbin channel, all wanted to be a superstar but the real hero's are the one who is working in the background without engineering nothing is possible.. For example phone -design by Mechanical Engineer, programmed by computer engineer and the internal chips are developed by ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION engineer, we are having proper voltage inside home because of Electrical engineer, we are inside home because of civil engineer, and codings by computer engineer without them even though if you want to become a superstar or entertainer whatever nothing is going to be possible..non only engineering all other fields are also very much important I'm developing nation, because of some reason the people are going far away from the knowledge instead they wanted only entertainment.. According to my point of view this is all due to the recognition failure.. If u act in one serial or movie you will be treated like a star, if you work hard for nation and people good will no one is going to recognize. Our nation needs little change.. They need to encourage people who are innovating something doing some good things for Nation.
