One thing UBW and HF didn't explain why Shirou heals his would so fast when he's close to Saber, however in FSN (Saber's route) did explained this when Shirou summoned the Avalon that Kiritsugu implanted within his body to save him after tragedy in Fate/Zero. since then Kiritsugu never took the avalon again from Shirou until he died.
