Fate/stay night UBW (2014) - Tohsaka Rin vs Emiya Shirou vs Rider 60fps FI - sub ESP & ENG

A very interesting confrontation from Unlimited Blade Works, animated by Ufotable, with top notch quality and post-production.
Make sure to watch it at least on 720p quality as it is rendered with SVP frame interpolation to achieve 60fps. Due to this, there are some minor graphical glitches.
This is my educational attempt in order to make the format more popular, which in my opinion works great in a lot of media, being one of the main ones anime.
I subtitled it in rioplatense Spanish and English, I hope you like it.

Asegúrense de verlo al menos en calidad de 720p ya que está rendereado con interpolación de frames del SVP para lograr 60fps, por consecuencia de esto hay algunos glitches gráficos menores.
Este es mi intento educacional de hacer más popular el formato, que a mi criterio funciona muy bien en muchos medios, siendo en anime uno de los principales.

In the Fate route, she and Shinji are the warm-up boss for Shirou and Saber- an opponent that lets them prove their chops, so to speak, and to force Saber to use Excalibur, which kicks off the next part of the plot.

In fate route she fights saber once, both using their noble phantasms (and rider using her divine beast), leading to her death. In Heaven's feel, you learn about her back story and her identity and she becomes a more important character (since Heaven's feel is Sakura's route). Only in UBW is she really useless, apart from stopping Rin from trying to kill Shirou that is.

In the VN if you get rekt in this scene Shirou passes out from the gandr shot's enervating effects, Rin wipes Shirou's memory and basically makes him the ignorant student that he was just a couple days before all over again. Not in the least, as you later learn in the VN, because she knows Shirou's death would absolutely devastate Sakura.

Lies and withholding of information are commonplace even among close allies in the Fate universe, so when Archer betrayed her but still killed Caster and Kuzuki, she assumed that it was just his plan all along and was still on her side. As for Kirei, she never really saw him do anything particularly incriminating. She just found him annoying and held grudge on him for losing the Tohsaka family's wealth while it was in his care. Despite that, he _did_ still take care of her living expenses and instructed her in magecraft, and she knows that he takes his work seriously despite his personal inclinations; so she begrudgingly respected him enough to trust him. It isn't a matter of her being stupid, but rather that Archer and Kirei are just too intelligent and experienced in comparison to her.

TheMegaUzumaki I get that you hate Rin, and I can understand that, but you have to understand that when Magi are involved, EVERYONE is a manipulative liar. Even Shirou, to an extent. Rin's just inexperienced in dealing with such things despite knowing about them intellectually. Despite being a prodigy, she has never interacted with the rest of the supernatural world outside of Fuyuki. Of course she'd easily be manipulated by those who knew better. She's naive in that way, but through no fault of her own. Normal society is vastly different from Magi society, so we can't view it from the same lenses; it requires context. Societal context that most Fate fans don't have due to being limited to just the Fate series. Aside from that, Rin has an extreme sense of equivalent exchange. All of her actions in the novel can be seen as her paying back a debt she owes someone. She owes Kirei for taking care of her, so she trusts him despite what she thinks. She owes Shirou for taking care of Sakura and saving her life, so she saves his life and takes care of him in return, despite knowing that it's tactically unsound. She always ends up paying back her debts, regardless of what she feels she should do and tries to do. One could even say that it's her Fate to eternally repay her debts. Some people theorize that her Origin is "Debt" because of this, which humorously enough explains her own monetary problems too. The VN makes this monumentally more clear. It's what you get for having such a large and varied cast of complicated characters; in an anime adaptation, there will be those who are bound to be shafted from on-screen development. UBW is Shirou and Archer's route, and nobody else's. Rin may be the love interest, but her deeper character has no role in the story itself, so it was put aside to try to develop Shirou's enormously complicated character (which they still couldn't do, in the end).

You're correct that Sakura was the one who summoned Rider, Shinji's such a failure he doesn't even have the power to summon his own Servant. Zouken decided that in order to protect Sakura, his pet project, her Command Seals' authority would be transferred to Shinji to act as a sacrificial pawn, taking advantage of his arrogance and pride to sound out the other Masters and Servants before properly committing Sakura to the War. For Zouken, the ideal result would have been Shinji dead, the other Masters thinking him the true Master, and Rider still alive. Even if they knew Rider was still kicking around, they still wouldn't be aware of her true potential as a Servant, because Shinji was such a weak shit who couldn't even provide his Servant with magical energy. The board would have been clear for Sakura and her OP magic potential to sweep the other Masters with Rider's ridiculous NPs. Shinji didn't know any of this, because Shinji is an idiot.

Goldfish4242 I just love that in HF, Rider was able to beat 3 extremely powerful servants no sweat. Although I kinda wished they let her go up against Berserker and Caster in HF she would've had a chance against them at full strength. I don't think Lancer though well because his natural affinity beats hers.
