@@anklasimo uhm... no? Shirou is immature, letting him win means surrendering to someone who doesn't want to understand where he is wrong and how wrong his desire is. Archer, on the contrary, is the only character who has shown himself at least adult in the way of thinking (even if selfish) and had the guaranteed victory, but he decided to indulge an idiot who in turn will be betrayed by his ideal. That's basically lazy writing because Nasu wanted at all costs the good end and vn readers shows how really dumb are at defending this...

@@АрсенийМаленков-д1з He would've seen the reverse-cause-and-effect version. EMIYA knows that if Cu was going to use it, he would instantly run away as a fast as he can. But Cu Chulainn's thrown version, he never seen. If he did, he would've underestimated its power in UBW

And if that HGW was like this one, obviously excluding his Counter Guardian version being summoned, he would learn who Cu is from Artoria calling him "Irelands Child of Light" or by some odd reason he knows of Gae Bolg from the Ulster Cycle. And when he does do the tracing of a weapon, he does learn how to use it and can activate the Noble Phantasm, it'll just be 1 rank lower. So if he used the thrown version of Gae Bolg, it would be C rank and not B+. Just like how he does so with Rho Aias

I love this, this really gives you that anxious feeling that as Archer is pulling on his bowstring, with Caladbolg in his hand. We're all just anticipating worridly on when he is gonna release one of his most destructive weapons yet. Like it gives you the feel of "Oh come! Just pull the trigger already! Get it over with!" sort of feel Yet at the same time, it is oddly beautiful and majestic, just as it's terrifying

@@ayu8994 Only in the anime. In the anime, due to the wounds from Saber still recovering, Herakles couldn't react fast enough and got killed. In the VN, Herakles was able to parry it, diverting enough of the force away to survive. A direct hit, however, would kill, which is why Herakles diverted it.

The argument has been made they are the same sword. The idea being that Caladbolg becomes known as Caliburn becomes known as Excalibur. Maybe a nod to that? More likely they were both using this show’s equivalent of a Celtic aesthetic.
