In the Arthurian Legends, Arthur had a second wife who was more faithful to him and Mordred took her hostage and killed her during the battle of Camlann. I kinda wish that feature was in the fate lore, but I still love what Fate does with the stories to make it work.

Ever heard of Fate/Zero Paradox? It’s a fanfic where the Masters all summon one “X-tra” Servant alongside their canonical one. The catch is that all of these “Servant X” characters are from various other works of media. Assassin X, summoned by Kiritsugu along with Artoria, is Kakashi Hatake from Naruto.
