Still don't understand why this isn't on Spotify...

I’ve been a fan since ATG. I was seriously disappointed after John Arch was fired and stopped following after Perfect Symmetry. I never saw them live (and had a chance to see them at The Thirsty Whale in Chicago but didn’t go because I was jaded over Arch’s departure). This is one of my most persistent regrets. What I can say, is that the last three Fates Warning albums are some of their best. Ray Alder is an unbelievable vocalist and lyricist. I will continue to scan music news and their website for tour dates. I will go to see them wherever they play, if the chance arises. Otherwise, I’ll carry this regret. This can’t be the end…

In my opinion the guys were fooling around in the studio and they decided to write a song in 37 seconds just for fun..and because its in their fuckin DNA to write awesome and beautiful music they did ..this..another magnificent FW tune..their new record is a killer and Fates is the best prog band out there......

Falling Further Take away the part of me That makes me feel that makes me see The things that I don't want to be At least I know that I can count on you A step ahead I step behind The things I fear, I've crossed the line Into a world where I feel blind I always know that I can count on you Oh, and it's hard to stay this graceful when.. I'm falling, falling Oh, and I have to say that yesterday is calling Took the time to live a life To see the world then say goodbye To my old friends, I don't know why I always know that I can count on you Oh, and it's hard to stay this graceful when I'm falling, falling Oh, and I have to say that yesterday is calling Nay, Nay, I See Where It Went Wrong, It's All Wrong Now here I am with eyes shut tight Not knowing if I'll see the light Before it's too late in this life I never knew I could not count on you

Yes, I also find it funny. And, I agree, I've seen them a few days ago, in Augsburg, and they were absolutely great. They are in great shape, powerful, yet probably the finest metal ensemble out there. It is a shame that only a few people realizes how great they are (in Augsburg we were only a few hundreds).

I agree with Lucas. The entire album is just out of this world start to finish. FW hit a home-run, no doubt about it. Thank God they're back even though I am hating life for missing their show last month.

This is totally worth the price of admission for the special edition of the CD!

Tem toda razão brother. FW é uma peça de arte rara de se achar, ter o original faz toda a diferença. Comprei este, e agora estou à espera do novo, "Theories of Flight". Cheers!!!!

How was this not on the album? I know it's basically just a re-arranged "Falling" but they could've segued into it from that song. Very poor decision given it's one of the best thing's they've written in ages and the middle of that album is slightly filler laden.

Deluxe digipak had a bonus disc with an extended version of Firefly and this. I agree about it being a great song, much better than the acoustic version.

This is probably the most melodic tune FW's done since... ever??? But comparing it to Bon Jovi? Seriously, dude...

What I like most is how they kept the general vocal arrangement very similar to the original version. Powerful.

Don't get me wrong, I love FW as they are my favorite band, but this song sounds so much like the eighties' "hair metal" (I can even hear some early Bon Jovi style on it)... It is certainly a very strange song for Fates Warning.
@brigade9116 жыл бұрын
I'm a fan of both Fates Warning and Bon Jovi, this is nowhere near Bon Jovi or hair metal. Some stuff on Parallels is more commercial and bordering on AOR/melodic hard rock. Not this one.

@X Y I guess you mean the 0:52-1:06 part (and again at 1:44-1:57) on the vocals and rhythm guitars. Well, ok, I get it, but to me it's not characteristic of the overall feel I get from the song. And frankly, if you guys didn't insist on it I wouldn't have noticed anything
