A selection of seven stories featuring Father Brown, the priest detective created in 1910 by G. K. Chesterton. Timestamps below. These stories are already available on the channel as individual uploads if you prefer to listen that way, but I've taken the opportunity while preparing this compilation to re-edit and remaster some of the older recordings. 00:01:42 The Blue Cross 00:53:22 The Secret Garden 01:47:47 The Queer Feet 02:40:34 The Invisible Man 03:24:44 The Mirror of the Magistrate 04:14:09 The Man with Two Beards 05:07:42 The Oracle of the Dog Story teasers and more details can be found in the video description (Note: as they were recorded episodically between 2020 and 2024 you may notice a slight variation in acoustic/audio quality between stories.)

I could never pass up anything from G.K. Chesterton , much less the classic clergyman-detective stories. The late Kenneth Moore played a most convincing character of the Father Brown series. Just what I needed on this brutally cold evening. Greetings from northern New Jersey.

i love the Father Brown stories and lately I have had trouble getting to sleep. This was a lovely Christmas gift Simon, thank you so much. I wish you a wonderful holiday season yourself. I began to doze in and out and just remember the end of The Queer Feet then lights out. I will start tonight with The Invisible Man. In addition my late father was a big fan of these stories and listening to them always brings him close.

Wonderful, thank you. Yes, these are all now in the album on Bandcamp - I added 'The Blue Cross' the other day because it was missing (I wanted to remaster the audio before releasing it) so it's now complete. I hope to record more Father Brown stories in the new year too

Dear Simon This is one of my favourite GKC stories. This one is especially clever. Thank you 😊 On another note, we took our 4 young grandchildren to the Metro theatre in Vancouver to see the pantomime Cinderella. They were very involved and loved every moment. I thought of you and the Dickens production last year. Your scope of influence is very broad. Have an excellent season and a joy filled Christmas. Warmest wishes to you. 🎄♥️🤍🇨🇦🤍♥️🎄

GK Chesterton must have been very familiar with Hartlepool. 😂

I've never visited, so can't comment! Though I passed by recently as I was working in Sunderland...

@BitesizedAudio I don't live too far away from H'pool. Sunderland is a character filled place too.
