Heres a list of info you may already know but good to keep in mind. When you press either up or down (can't remember) on D-Pad, it reduces your health slightly in exchange for five extra silver bullets. I think there's even lore tied to it. A lot of players just call them blood bullets since it reduced your health, and the +5 under the number of bullets you have is in red. And the stealth in this game is basically walking slowly up to an enemies back and charging R2 to open up a viceral Also, whenever you equip gemstones to your weapons to increase their stats. Make sure to keep away from any of the cursed ones. They come with a downside. Some of them gradually decrease your health overtime. There arent many of the cursed ones tho. It's always good to check and see if you found any new gemstones to attach or replace in your weapon anytime after you've cleared a major area. You can attach three gemstones to a weapon. Itll unlock the second and third gem slots as you level up the weapon more. Dont forget to attach the runes to your character as well. You can find the table to do that at near the one you upgrade your weapons at. When it comes to outfits wear whatever you like. The only time I pay more attention to outfits is if I need to increase my Poison or Frenzy resistance temporarily. You'll eventually find some nice spots to farm for both echoes and blood vials. Insight is basicallly a secondary currency. There is another fountain in the Hunters Dream just above the one your purchase stuff from with your echoes. However, I would save the Insight you gather until late game. You can use 60 of them to buy a Blood Rock which is the material you need to fully upgrade a weapon. You find one blood rock in the main game and one in the DLC plus the ones you can buy. So by the end of your playthrough you could have three weapons fully upgraded. Insight also affects other aspects of the game. There are certain things in the world you can't even tell are there until you reach a certain amount of Insight. I believe the higher your Insight the more challenging enemies are as well, but it's only a slight increase. Oh, and Insight is also required to summon other players and be summoned also. It only cost 1 insight and so long as you don't die and you defeat the boss, you won't lose it. Youll earn Insight killing bosses and finding it on the ground throughout the world. If you decide to stick to this game all the way through then I highly recommend saving the Old Hunters DLC until you get to the final boss in the main game. You’ll know when you get to that point. The DLC is tough, but a lot of fun and has some of the best weapons in the game. You'll probably have to Google how to even enter the DLC, lol, but it’s not difficult. Just a fews steps to follow. One thing I loved about this game. I missed several large areas in the main game on my first and second playthrough. They did an amazing job at letting the player naturally discover things. There are several fun hidden things in this game. It's great.

Yall we gotta get these numbers up, this series deserves all the support. Was in during the skyrim stream but had to leave because work. Generally my job is slow enough to where i can watch these while there, but today was VERY busy, but I'm glad this is how I get to end out my night. Keep up the great work Ace, if by the time I finish this video, I have any tips to give, I'll gladly give them in an edit. Take it easy sir!

Edit: So a tidbit that I want to give, is that to kinda get what's happening in the game, or if you want context as to what's happening, I recommend reading item descriptions. Can read them by pressing square when you have one selected. Some give story and world tidbits, some even give cryptic tips for mechanics in the game. I'd recommend starting off with reading the description of the Blood Vials in the bath shop. The walking stick guys in Cathedral Ward are very useful for practicing your parrying on.

PLEASE release more videos of this! Bloodborne is one of my favorite games of all time! A couple tips: 1.) Bloodborne has counter damage, meaning you'll take a lot more damage if you get hit while dodging/running. Sometimes tanking a hit is the better choice to ensure you survive than risk dodging it and dying. 2.) ALL beast-like enemies/bosses are weak to fire and serrated weapons (Saw Spear, Saw Cleaver, transformed version of the Threaded Cane, etc). 3.) Beast Blood Pellets increase your attack with every successful hit. Once the bar fills up, you've reached maximum damage you can inflict with a pellet active. However, it does lower your defense. Certain types of clothing increase your beasthood, which makes it easier for the bar to fill faster. Heavy attacks also increase it faster. 4.) You can do transformation attacks! Try pressing R1, L1, L1. Your weapon will keep doing attacks, but in both short and long form! 5.) The Pungent Blood Cocktail DID work on Blood-Starved Beast, it's just a very short duration (about 10 seconds). It keeps a beast boss/enemy distracted for a bit so you can heal up, go through inventory, or get a couple hits in. 6.) Keep trying the parry method. Parrying is essential in Bloodborne and it's an extremely helpful tool. If an enemy/boss is your size, maybe even a little larger, they can be parried with the gun. Some include Yharnam madmen, werewolves, giant pigs, Hunters, even Blood-Starved Beast could've been parried. Try it on all enemies just in case! 7.) Badges are what unlock more items that can be purchased at the Bath Messenger. The guy on the rooftop you fight drops one when he dies, but since he fell off the ledge it didn't spawn for you. All you have to do is go back up to where you fought him and it should be there. Some badges you can find in chests or on the ground, others are from enemies or bosses. If I think of any more tips, I'll let you know! MORE BLOODBORNE PLEASE! 😂

Bloodborne is one of the games I wish I could forget about to discover again. Man I love to see you going in blind and seeing you so excited about it. By Gascoigne I had already uninstalled the game twice because it put me off so much (my first souls game), only played it again later out of boredom during covid.. So, you're doing great.. 4 years later it's my favorite game of all time, my first and only platinum trophy, and I could talk about it all day lol. I'm still playing a couple runs yearly and helping people in coop. Looking forward to see you play some more
@officedurapquebecois Жыл бұрын
Also, just a little bit of context in case you decide to run through this game again after you're finished.. Djura (that guy who shoots you from the tower ) can be befriended.. To do so you need to finish the level without hurting any beasts (it's too late now, he's aggro'd for good) except for the boss. It doesn't give much, but I thought it was such an awesome detail
@officedurapquebecois Жыл бұрын
And another small thing.. When he died, he should've dropped something.. Item might be at the top of the tower still, if you had quit and reloaded the game it would've popped up the tower. As for the saw weapons, I recommend the Saw spear more than the cleaver, but it's just personal preference. I like that the moveset has a bit more verticality so it's very useful against some taller ennemies. To me it's pretty much the best weapon in the game, although they are all viable.

New subscriber here, Bloodborne is one of my favorite games. A couple of tips: The pebbles and throwing knives are just meant for luring enemies away from a group, not for damage. Insight is "eyes on the inside" it is a game trigger, as you gain more insight, the more the world changes. Some insight gained is permanent from completing specific parts of the game and changes the game world. You are correct with the beast blood pellet, it boosts your damage the fuller the bar is. Hunter axe is hard to fill up the bar because of its speed. You will be able to get more items (including fire paper) in the insight shop, but there are triggers that cause the shops to update. Similar to how unlocking badges unlocks more weapons. Some weapons have hidden modifiers, for example the saw cleaver and the saw spear deal serrated damage which does more to beasts. Certain in game events will block off side quests, so just be sure to communicate with NPCs in doors often. Fighting Alfred is optional, you never have to fight him, some people do so they can get his weapon/armor. There is no harm to talking to him or doing his quest.
@Levity635 Жыл бұрын
You can accept Alfred's offer of cooperation, don't stress it with him, but well done on showing caution none the less. Enjoying this playthrough, looking forward to part 3!

BB is my first Souls game and with Sekiro my favourite game of all time. You're doing way better than I did in my first run. One thing that will make your life exponentially easier is learning how to parry. Use the gun my dude, parrying will save you a lot of frustration, especially against bosses. Not every boss can be parried so experiment with it. Btw I think falling into that hole next to the pig is a rite of passage, I did the same thing lol

Definitely fun to watch. Lol

Another great run bro! Getting Gascoigne in like ten tries or less your first go is still crazy! The guy on the roof with the mini gun is named Old Hunter Djura and he was voiced by a guy named William Houston who was also in the more recent Wednesday Adams series. Keep killing it man, youre doing really well your first time through! The game doesnt allow you into places it doesnt want you to be unless you clip through a gate (Look up Lunch Skip) or do some very specific things to break the game so dont worry about being in the right place. Keep working on the parry mechanic, get right up to the enemy before you hit R1 when you get it to do the visceral stabby attack. PRO TIP: If youre on stairs it wont give you the Visceral if youre above or below them. Get on the same step with them to get the visceral!

Hey man, coming into your videos as someone who only recently properly got into Bloodborne, thought I’d give you my perspective. It took me 3 attempts across a couple years to even properly start getting into this game because I just didn’t get it. First time I just didn’t see the appeal, second time I was too into the “clear the area before moving on” mindset, then the third time (current play through) I’ve just beaten Ludwig, one of the hardest bosses of the game. I’ve never played a Fromsoft game before Bloodborne so this was genuinely my first proper go. It is frustrating how hard the bosses can kick your arse, especially when you’re convinced they’re easy. One of the main lessons I learned is that the more you underestimate a boss, the more you’ll get killed by them again and lose your echoes and items. Don’t let your choice of weapon or outfit knock you down. Every weapon in the game is viable and you’ve stuck with the Hunter’s Axe enough to know it’s move set well, whereas outfits (as much as yes, they do have stat changes) barely effect anything and are primarily for aesthetic. You’ll also find that the area you’ve gone through has what you need, so Old Yharnam has antidotes and bloodvials to farm if/when you’re low, and most areas give you what you need when coming up to a boss, it’s a little secret treat Fromsoft pulls a lot but it’s pleasant to know. But at the end of the day item wise you don’t need items. I’d say antidotes are pretty important against BSB however fire paper, beast pellets and such are only to make the fight go faster, not to make you better. You don’t need those items so don’t stress about them too much Finally, the whole point of Fromsoft is to kick your arse until you learn the mechanics of the game enough to continue. In this kind of game it’s very much a situation of “practice makes perfect”. You were doing pretty damn well against Blood-Starved Beast and I’ll be honest she is in my top 5 hardest bosses, she gave me a LOT of trouble. The best way to go about it is to simply take your time and be patient. Keep your short axe and gun out, time the parries (on attacks that aren’t going to lunge at you) to get those viscerals in (but if you can’t pull off the viscerals it’s fine you don’t need to do them) and use the pillars in the arena to use your antidotes and vials when you need to. This fight is all about not getting greedy. Souls-Boss Burnout is something I’ve experienced and it’s tough feeling like you can’t be arsed with the game anymore, but for real I’d love to see you get back into this game with renewed vigour and kick BSB’s arse because you were close as fuck. And EVEN IF you still don’t manage her, BSB is an optional boss so you can always come back to her later. Hope to see another Bloodborne video soon g

HP the least important thing? It's the most important thing, if you die you die. HP is the only thing that keeps that from happening, while all the other stats make no difference if you're dead. I'm gonna stack HP in all Soulslike from now on, at least until diminishing returns set in. You obviously can't do that in Sekiro, which is why that's the most challenging of them all. But it's also the best one.
@kvothe463711 ай бұрын
Health is just another stat and is only as important as you make it. If you are very good at dodging or parrying and don't get hit often then health is less important, so levelling up other stats like stamina or strength to deal damage quicker becomes a smarter option. Remember enemies can't kill you if they are already dead 😉

HP really isn't that important in BB. The sidestep, the parrying, etc, mean you can completely avoid damage most of the time. The levels are better invested into stamina or skill.
@Sandlund939 ай бұрын
@@aarorissanen930 Well, I have never heard anyone saying they first tried Orphan, Maria and Lawrence on their first playthrough. The only thing that made that possible was my 2k HP. Ludwig and Failures took 2 tries. And I had never seen these fights before, they are arguably some of the hardest FromSoft has made. That is how broken HP is in Bloodborne. If I had skipped the Chalice Dungeons I would have been completely crushed, just like everybody else.
@kvothe463711 ай бұрын
Hey man just started watching your stuff, nice chilled out guy , you earned my sub straight off. Really enjoying your playthrough. Only thing i will mention is concentrate on dodging towards enemies not backwards or to the side. You wanna end up behind them after a dodge. It amazing how much easier this game is doing that plus don't panick too much about trying to parry everything, its a high risk play that can make some enemies easier but most times just gets you killed if you over use it. Wouldn't normally backseat but souls games have turned off alot of players just because they didn't find out the best strat to make the game enjoyable and not feel like a chore. Good stuff man 👍

Great job so far! Another tip for the blood starved beast, dodge towards him and a little to the side to get behind him (that works btw. with many opponents), bsb is a pretty fast opponent, which is also why I would use the axe with two hands for the greater reach. With a charged 2H axe (R2) attack you can sometimes knock the bsb off its feet , timing right , it make a huge damage also. Only my 2 cents ! 👋
@asiderealday Жыл бұрын
Really enjoying the run so far, look forward to watching more of it! All the advice I can give is that perhaps you are playing a bit too passively. You definitely had Blood-Starved Beast that last time if you kept closer to him and wacked him more often
@mono683910 ай бұрын
Walking slowly is equivalent to sneaking. If you approach the enemies from behind (or from the side), they won't notice! Charged attacks (R2) with the 2H Axe knock most opponents off their feet, with enough stamina this gives you time to attack again (or heal yourself, etc.) , also good for groups if you timing right! I really enjoyed watching you play, thanks for that ! Greetings from Berlin !

Scared away from Alfred by notes, that's a shame lol
@Sandlund93 Жыл бұрын
I never saw any notes during my playthroughs. It seems like they ruin the experience more than add to it. But Kingdom's gotta play it his own way. I summoned Alfred against BSB on my first playthrough, which was kinda lame. But I actually think it's one of the hardest bosses in the entire game, it seems to be scaled higher than the Chalice BSB, which is kinda weird. I compared that on New Game +3 though, so that might be why.
@Evan056 Жыл бұрын
@Sandlund93 True, notes can be a lot of fun, just half of them are trolls or require you to "be in the know" as they often say. For a 1st playthrough I'd just take them with a grain of salt. Summoning NPCs does make the game harder at times, but I sometimes do it when it feels right.
