This might be a bit heavy to share on here, but this album came out the day after my dad was very suddenly hospitalized in what would become the beginning of his decline in health that would result in his passing six months later. This album felt perfectly fitting for how grim, confusing, and sad my life had suddenly become, and it helped me get through it all. I saw Josh live a month before my dad would pass and I couldn't help but cry during Please Don't Die. For admittedly personal reasons, this album has become one of my favorites more quickly than most manage to, and I'm thankful it came out right when I needed it most. Happy first anniversary, baby 🎉🎉🎉

As snarky and toxic as most typical comments sections can be, it takes a certain kind of bravery and spiritual fortitude to share ANYTHING of a painful or personal nature, much less something like this. Thats the difference between trying to write something that sounds smart, and something that sounds cool. "Poem Zone" is just fun to say/hear, and thats what I love in FJM, always has smart and playful lyrics with a dose of self-awareness. In that case, he KNOWS writing a poem is so cliché as an artist, so soon as he tells it, he mocks it.
