Eres un hijo ejemplar y da alegría al saber que disfrutaste estar en Colombia 🇨🇴 con tu mamá y que es lo ÚNICO que importa como ha sido mamá Y papá. Eres perfecto como eres!!!!! I LOVE your mother’s position and advice. She is right. You have the right to give yourSELF the opportunity to give him and yourself the chance to compartir. Wowsers that’s a lot to process and deal with…imho you did an amazing job (kudos to your gorgeous mumma!). This stuff is not easy to navigate-we never have the page in the manual-but…it’s better to regret something you HAVE done, rather than something you haven’t. The universe lined up these opportunities and you’ve grabbed them and run with it…once in a lifetime chances. Be in the present and enjoy the times with him. Life is short and chances like this may never come again xxx

Sebastian you handled this beautifully. I’m sure your mom is so proud of the son she raised. My own father didn’t really know his father. His parents stayed legally married but separated when he was 3. Growing up, he went through so much and had so many responsibilities beyond his years. He only met his father again briefly before he passed away. After his father passed, he met so many of his cousins who grew up with his dad as their father figure. His dad played such a big role in their lives. My father was silenced and berated when he’d say his father had never been the man to him that he was to them. The whole situation made my dad bitter and angry in a way he never really got over. I know how much it means that you can treat your father like this while still approaching it honestly and openly. I understand the strength it takes and the love and security your mom must have provided to make this possible.

Sebastian, a mother's heart is so big and each mother knows her child to the deepest part of their heart. I am a single mother to a son as well. Even though your mother is everything to you, she knows that your heart still needs healing and she supports that. Yes those days of a young boy are over. Now your father sees you as a grown man and has to earn that respect and love. It doesn't happen over night. God put you there this week for the future steps you and your father will take. You set your boundary with him already. In your best JLo..this is me NOW. Hugs and best wishes to you ❤️

Ask yourself how you'd feel if you woke up tomorrow morning and you got a call saying "Your father passed away last night". How you think you would feel will tell you a lot. If you think you'd have even an ounce of regret, keep trying to maintain a relationship. My father passed in 2015 of a sudden cardiac arrest. He had never been sick. It was SUDDEN. I was going to call him that night but I was sleepy and thought id put it off until morning. But that morning never came. Living with regret is the worst thing. Tomorrow isnt promised to anyone. Your mother sounds like a wise woman.

Thanks for sharing bestie! It really helps me not feel so alone. Everyone always wishes happy father's day and it's beautiful to celebrate the ones we love but family relationships can be complex and complicated. I also don't want to be bitter and resentful so I want to accept my father the way he is right now and if loving him means loving from afar, so be it. All we can focus is on what we can control and be grateful for what we do have instead of wishing things were different or "better." Love your channel!!! You're so relatable, kind, funny, and beautiful inside and out! ❤❤❤
