people think its just a father and son dancing ...It's a father and son sharing the love of dance. Giving back to the commumity And teaching people outside of it. The culture And good nature of the tribe while honoring the family members before them Pure enjoyment

Culture is never static. It continues to evolve as the people learn and see more. Old traditions incorporate new ideas, sensibilities as the younger generations step up to carry on. Any culture that remains static, dies.

That was awesome to see. I miss the powwows from back home. Puyallup, Quinalt, Shelton, Tillamook, and even traveling to Canada for them. I hope one day, I find some close to where I live in Tennessee. Usually, when I do, it is a few days late when I hear about them. My daughter's godmother got her started in shawl dance at the Puyallup Powwows when she was 3 years old. She doesn't do it anymore, I wish she did. She was good at it. Her godmother was a jingle dancer. THANK YOU,for sharingI look forward to future ones.

Glad to see my northern cousins honoring the ancient traditions unfortunately I wasn't so lucky to be raised in my culture, I only found out later in life that I was chiricahua apache and raramuri from Mexico on my dad's side and they were forced to abandon their native heritage from the colonizers because I don't even have an Indian name and just as our American tribal cousins endured great atrocities under white rule in the US we endured similar atrocities in Mexico under Spanish and later Mexican rule. I love learning not just about my own heritage but my cousins and I know we are not really family but we are all related by our shared heritage of turtle island. Much love and respect to my Indian brothers and sisters please cherish your heritage and keep fighting to practice it and protect it because you never know how precious it is until you lose it or forced to give it up like what happened to my family.

Jon, I'm so very sorry for what my people did to your people. It was cruel, shameful, disgraceful. I'm happy that you're finding and living your heritage and culture. They are something to be very proud of. I stand with you my Native American brother. ❤
