At 36, black male, no father growing up, this was a great interview! I wish i had this dynamic and relationship growing up with my father, also my mother. Never once did i get a chance to sit down, talk, get to know who they are, I was raised in the SOUTH by Grandmother. I watched evey minute of this interview and took in a lot of wisdom from it. Things that i can apply in my daily life, and ways i can be a better Father to my son and daughters.

Man!! I love this so much!! As my father is no longer with me (was only 57 when he passed). I was laughing when I heard y’all talking about why/how you became Catholic, as I grew up Baptist and then acquired my spiritual foundation as an adult in a Pentecostal church. We might be family jk 😂 Our story similar. My grandparents from Mississippi moved to Chicago. Had stores etc. my grandparents moved to Memphis but my great aunts and uncles stayed in Chicago area, Rockford Harvey Etc. Never met any of them.
