love the idea of some half asleep person, probably in a nursing home, dying or boredom, watching some random community access tv programme, and their ears pricking up when the nun say's she was the daughter of the King and Queen.
@barahona683 жыл бұрын
That would be hilarious but I doubt she would mention that at all. Those times seem to be past for her! What I find amazing is her peace and when asked if any members of her family still were alive in Romania by that she answers that her generation was all gone but that didn't make any difference at all. On the other hand she speaks very candidly about her faith and that it has sustained her during all her life and the sorrows she has suffered.

When asked if the other romanian nun had a similar background to her she simply says that that nun was the daughter and widow of 2 professors. No one would have a similar background to her, she was a royal princess!

I didn't even realise that a twice-divorced woman with children could become a nun.
@Calciu_839 ай бұрын
If the woman at the well (who was divorced 5 times) can meet our Lord and have an honorable place in the Gospel, then Mother Alexandra can live a life as a nun.

In Orthodox nations like Romania, Greece, Russia, etc., it was not uncommon for widows and widowers to enter monastic life even as "senior citizens", especially in places where large monasteries were common.
