So happy I found this recipe! I’m currently in USA and miss my moms pickled fish esp this time of year so I’m following your guidelines to try and make my husband some leka pickled fish as both of us are away from home (Cape town) for the first time since being newly weds ❤️🇿🇦 Baie Dankie Aunty Fatima🙏🏻

It was mouthwatering delicious. Words can not describe the joy I felt when eating this dish. Took me back to my childhood when Mammie made this dish. Shukran.

Hi Fatima, how did you manage to nicely slice your snoek because snoek has so many bones?
@deirdrelewis14543 жыл бұрын
You can always use another type of fish. I don’t like snoek so I use hake or swordfish.

Hi Fatima - i was raised to dip your fish into egg for batter with the flour. I want to do it yr style cos i ahveent made pickle in decades. Is there a y reason why yu dont use eggs pls
@marlenebornman18412 жыл бұрын
Not batter when pickling only in flour ....I think batter will make it soggy I use egg and flour when frying my fish

Hi Fatima, can you make it two or three days in advance and just store it in the fridge? Or is it best to make and eat on the same day...
@VirtualRonnie2 жыл бұрын
you can make it weeks beforehand, so 2 to 3 days are perfect
@marlenebornman18412 жыл бұрын
If Making it weeks in advance don't use water only vinegar
