(English ver : This time you ate "Castella" which is also "Traditional Japanese Sweets". Looks delicious. I love the ones with a crispy bottom and lots of "coarse" flour. Chris, you said you don't eat sweets very often, but this makes you even more "Japaneseized".)

it was much better than i expected. When I do eat sweets this will be one that I choose. I guess I am becoming more and more Japanesized!
What a beautiful theme! Delicate and neat! I saw the survey about castella and favorite drink for it. I personally love to dip castella type cakes in dealcoholized rum or brandy that is simmered for 5 min and drink a pot of Keemun tea.

I'm not usually a big fan of rum or brandy but I wonder if i cooked the alcohol out maybe I would like it. It sounds like it would go really well with castella. Many people mentioned milk, think soy milk would work too, and I would like to try that as well.
