I know I was one of the people who requested this- I guess I'm just in denial that this thing is just a worse Machina in a lot of cases. It's my only Strange weapon, so I wanted to see if someone could dominate a server conclusively with it, but losing the headshot crit drops the skill ceiling and this weapon's peak effectiveness hard. Thanks for doing this, though. Good games.

Sydney sleeper, the jarate secondary and the bushwacka all form a really powerful loadout. You headshot with your primary and reduce jarate’s cooldown. You use jarate and deal guaranteed melee critical hits against jarated players. this also works well with the soldier buff that grants mini crits.

Another unknown fact about the Sydney sleeper is it can extinguish allies from afar as long as you hit the ally and it is charged with the jar icon blinking.

To be fair it's not really supposed to. The Sydney plays into the sniper being a support class unlike every other rifle which just plays into him being an attack class. Rather than fully charging and headshotting a heavy you just charge up enough to get 2-3 seconds of jarate and pop him doing a burst of damage and making him super easy to kill if your team is competent. With its faster charging time it makes it really good for not directly killing but rather sentencing an enemy to death cause losing 50-200 hp and being jarated basically makes you easy pickings for any class at all. If you play into the syndeys strengths and repeatedly jarate different mid-high health targets rather than just treating it like a normal rifle and going for the same person over and over you can end up being a much bigger threat to the enemy as it's significantly harder to avoid a sniper who doesn't have to hit your head to screw you over.

@@imnotnarcian Refer to my explanation on how the rifle can be better if used right and in the right circumstances. Also it can still delete almost every class with its 200+ damage charged headshot piss. And the piss explosion was op af, long range no cool down jarate made it basically the best rifle hands down, why kill one person when you can sentence 6 to death and have a soldier just fire over a couple rockets.

I liked the old way the sleeper worked; now the jarate duration is tied to the scope charge, when before if you had 50% charge you got max duration. It was easier to mark people and only needing half charge meant not needing to hard scope if you didn't want to.
