Fine JOB,thank you so much, the sliding pinky is so tricky if you are a normal human and no mutant with giant hands😁

Thank you! Yes Fats’ stature was huge including his hands so naturally his piano style reflects this. Us mortals just sit back in awe at his capabilities and adapt as best we can to achieve the things Fats did.

Noteman: The first note (in the bass) of the third bar on page 10 is written as an E natural! Based on previous instances of this same measure in the piece and based on the Ab chord analysis one would certainly expect an E flat. Is this your mistake or is it a mistake you heard in Fats' playing? Thanks. Never mind. I've listened to Fats again and I hear it!
@noteman_ Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, yes, Fats definitely plays an E natural here. I don't think of it as a mistake actually but have always thought it was Fats was having fun playing an unexpected note and delaying the expected Ab9 harmony here. He's also wanting to relieve the repetition and create some variation here too. Thanks for the comment and thanks again for listening!

@@noteman_ I totally agree. It sounds like a delay, not a mistake. One might even call it a suspension. And even a suspension that has been prepared!

Noteman: I have finally figured out how to print the transcriptions from these KZbin pages. I take a Print Screen of the pages to Paint and save them and print them from there. Let me know if that's okay.

Hi Michael, feel free to do whatever you need to do to learn from these videos. I have no issues at all. Perhaps others have used similar techniques. I'm not sure what KZbin's stance is here so I'm not going to put forth an opinion either way :) I'm only sorry I can't provide pdf links at this time. A digital device such as an iPad may be another although rather pricier alternative. Thanks again for your interest!

Thank you so much! Regarding pdf files, as I’ve mentioned elsewhere, I’m only providing videos for the time being I’m sorry. I suggest an iPad or similar device as a convenient way to learn from them. I may upload pdf links for a small support fee in the future or if I get enough subscribers... So until then, I hope you can still enjoy and learn much about Fats’ timeless piano style from my videos. Thanks again for your support!

@@noteman_ I've just seen how many Fats transcriptions you've done. Astounding! Do you still play them all? Where are you based/where can I come and see you playing, or do you have any live stuff on youtube or anywhere?
@noteman_ Жыл бұрын
@@karlmullen100 Thank you! I "aspire" to play them and indeed play through each transcription to ensure their playability but certainly not up to speed and I don't have Fats' hand size that's for sure! I'm based in Sydney, Australia actually. I am a professional musician/composer but not a soloist. I don't have any other online presence other than KZbin I'm sorry. Again, thank you so much for your interest and support!
