Damn, you brought a tear to my eye. Not because of your beautiful fatwood. Brother Bill is so missed.

Excellent! Thank you dedicating your fire to our Bill, and thank you for the mention of my stoves! Very good of you mate. Hope you and Jess stay cool out there! Definitely a more comfortable place to be at present! Very best wishes mucker 👍🏽👍🏽😎👌🏽

Very sad about Bill but then that is life, I often say "Nature might be beautiful but it is also brutal". The stoves are excellent as a clean efficient brew and simple meal maker you can just put in your pocket when out and about, and still multi fuel if you want them to be. Best wishes

The whole stove and three fuel blocks (easily enough for three brews or one brew and a decent meal) fits in my pocket and is fairly light. Very clean and quiet. Thanks for the comment and wishing you all the best

This was a great Fatwood Friday on a Sunday. You're doing the right thing sleeping in the backyard while a new heat wave is being declared. I would also like to do that but then my toilet is so far away 🤣😂. Have a great week and stay healthy, nice to have you back......
@GrasshopperOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. As for the toilet, there are work arounds. It sure is heating up once more, the only thing I have to do is move the tent every two or three days so the grass does not die, but then the heat and drought might kill it anyway.

I had to use my little stove tonight because I couldn't find any gas. It did what it was supposed to do, but if you don't buy the fuel block in bulk they can be very expensive. I love your back garden. It is my idea of heaven. Another cracking video I could have watched it all night. Thank you.
@GrasshopperOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome and I agree the fuel blocks are expensive which is why I mentioned mentholated spirits, best to put some glass wool in the stove to hold the meths. I also use alcohol hand sanitizer which works very well. I like the BCB stove because it is light, easy and no mess as well as more covert than a roaring gas stove or a Hexamine stove which has a smell about it.

@@GrasshopperOutdoorsI did try the liquid hand sanitizer after watching one of your other videos and it worked fine so, I will continue to use it. I wanted to get rid of what I had left of my solid fuel blocks before winter comes. Oh, and we will be making one of your pies in just a few weeks' time. I'm so looking forward to doing that. Thank you for your help, Chris. Keep up the good work :-)

@@southleedsmemories2686 It is indeed the pie making season, this morning I brought in brambles and the apples will soon be ready which are by far my largest crop. We freeze some and I bottle the rest in empty marmalade jars, still got a few left from last year so they keep very well indeed. All the best.

The only place better I can think of is by the sea, we are getting used to the heat a little but there is nothing like a dip in the sea, and the dog loves it. ATB

Hi Chris, any night is a good night whith fat wood, and a brew, as for the heatwave I hope it's not as bad as last time, on the Tuesday it was like walking into an oven, too much for me I'm afraid. I liked the little BCB stove, nice and compact, hope you slept well, thanks for the video, and RIP Bill, wherever you are mate. Cheers Chris, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.

Many thanks, yes I am still out in the garden, having moved the tent to stop the grass from dying, though if this keeps up too long the grass will die anyway as we are on a water meter and can't afford to water everything once the rain barrels run dry, in fact I have already written off my top crop of potatoes, the passion fruit however is doing tremendous and the sweet corn not bad.

Very simple, clean, quiet and compact stove, you can also use mentholated spirits or hand sanitizer gel (alcohol based) as a fuel. Best wishes

Ha, two questions, 1). Do your neighbours think that you're a Nutter camping out in the back garden and 2). is that a genuine BARBOUR jacket? I still have a Marks & Spencer variant somewhere or other.
@GrasshopperOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
In reverse order yes and yes! #2 It is a genuine Barbour jacket, Type Beaufort, I have three, all Beaufort, two dilapidated I wear for out and about with the dog, and one in much better condition which I use for "Tidier" occasions only. None of them were new when I got them as they are priced now at "Fashion Accessory" prices, way beyond my budget, but despite the fact they are way over priced they are very practical and what I prefer, so I will wear them till they drop to pieces (with the odd repair here and there). I also have loads of camo gear from past episodes in my life but that just draws attention to your self in these parts in these times. #1 The neighbors know I am strange (Nutter), ever since I built small boats and "sailed" them across the Atlantic with my brother (and father, massively helping with the modifications needed). The last one being an 18ft canoe with outrigger (a long time ago), modified a bit of course to stop it turning over every day and get it back up when it did. (And they don't even know the half of it). But heck, who in their right mind would want to be "normal" 🙂

@@GrasshopperOutdoors Well, they thought NOAH was a Nutter too. 😉
