The interviewer asked if there were any things that were difficult to act. I read on Wikipedia that Lior Raz when 19 lost his girlfriend to a terrorist bomb and the terrorist was caught, jailed and later released during a prisoner swap of 1 Israeli soldier to 1000 Arab prisoners. This came to mind when Doron is negotiating a prisoner swap in season 1 and says "we won't be swapping one for a thousand like in the past". The level of authenticity in this series is off the charts.

Here in America my Wife and I are huge fans of Fauda. It begins, we are transported, and then the closing credits begin. We sit there shocked as if God has given us a revelation which began, continued like an eternity that you cannot take your eyes off of and then ended as quickly as it began. Everything about Fauda, actors, script, you name it, is totally compelling. Encore, Encore!

What made this show so universally appealing was that it dealt not only with the conflicts and terror but the price their families paid and the emotional bonds within a unit. I binge watched season 1-2 first and this year my Israeli husband binge watched it with me and there was so much that he could relate to. Excellent show! And I could understand what Lior meant by the culture and temperament of Jewish Israelis with roots in Arab countries.

I am Lebanese, living in Australia, and I only discovered Fauda on Netflix yesterday. Last night I binge watched the whole of Season 1 until 4am. Seriously, it is so fantastic. The suspense is off the charts. I've watched a couple of interviews now with these guys, and I think they are so delightful. Love their sense of humour in the interviews, they are both so charming. What I love most is the way they are producing an unbiased series, respecting both sides of the war. Which is pretty incredible considering Lior used to work for the Israeli Defence Force. I'm in awe of both Avi and Lori's talent and ability to create so many episodes that radiate authenticity and intensity. You really can't help feeling empathy for some of the characters on both sides of the war. It almost feels like it's a real documentary series, not acting. It gives me some hope that one day the conflict may end, when the youth decide they don't want to hate or be so unforgiving for the sins that have happened in the past by the generations before them. Who wins when there is continuous bloodshed? Looking forward to watching Season 2 and Season 3, then Season 4. :)

We just started watching Faunda on Netflix, we can't get enough of the show. I love the fact that you have it just the way it is with the subtitles and languages. It definitely draws you in to watch the next episode. So glad we found this show. Almost done with season 4, but need season 5 now. I loved Doron with all my respect for his wife, so handsome as we say in Spanish, such a “Macho Man”. All the characters are fabulous, enjoy their jokes, braveness and am sure that’s how Israelis & Arabs are, wild and warriors...I made some research on Internet on Lio R and and some other characters too. In all the series my heart was pounding all the time I even felt as if my blood pressure was elevated all the time. Love to hear foreign language specially from Middle East as well as actors, don’t mind reading subtitles either. Got to say..... I love the series. And everyone who played their part. So done with commercial cinema and such. And Mr Lior Raz.....what can I say admiration galore!!! So,in the midst of office blues and the current situation, stumbled on the series on Netflix... And well, just binged watched all 3 series non stop in 2 days(had to spare time for work from home, and house chores and washing the crap out of everything that I come in contact with like a crazy woman). Waiting for more series or episodes. Loved every bit of the portrayal..... And please keep it in non English format, the language just took the viewing to a different level ..... Am good with reading the translation sub titles. So glad and relieved of quality series that exist in the midst of mainstream over the top, unreal drama. Well done, and much love from India!!!!!

Lion Raz said one of the messages of the show is War is bad. I was glad Fauda followed that up by adding, War is bad but it’s not simple. Therein lies the problem with modern conceptions of conflicts. The mind wants a formula: Good guys over here; Jihadist 1, 2, and 3 over there (Tatiana Siegel observed this at the start). Indeed, generation after generation has to go through something akin to the five stages of grief when it first learns the Jewish/Palestinian conflict. It’s complicated. Anyone who tells you otherwise is invested in war. Thankfully artists gifted like Issocharoff and Raz can challenge some of the dogmas that persist (and support) these primitive conflicts and perhaps show us a way out.
