Sir, I want to know that, Why strike and dip are always perpendicular to each other ?

That's because we have conceptualized it in that way to analyse folds...faults... structure...The dip is the maximum angle of inclination of the plane. Because the dip trend is always perpendicular to the strike only the quadrant direction (NE, SE, NW, SW) is needed for the dip... Best wishes 🌱

Sir, what is the difference between, rift valley formed by divergence and rift valley formed by compression of two black mountains. I am confused. One is a divergence force and other is a convergence force. It means rift valleys are made by both the forces? Or there is any difference.
