What's interesting is that after this game came out, real life happened. Brazilian special forces and police SWAT teams declared war on the gang leaders hiding in the favelas. A Brazilian living nearby texted live updates of what was going on and uploaded pictures taken by brave-ass reporters who went straight in for a shot of the action. Crazy. I think this was around 2015 or 2016.

Fun fact: Rojas' assistant shoot 16 bullets out of the Desert Eagle (.50 Action Express, 7 bullets per mag) without changing the magazine or having extended magazine, so he cheated. At least they fix it in the Remaster, he pick up the AK after he shoot the whole magazine.

I just wonder how Nikolai managed to get his hands on a Pavelow? Considering it's an American chopper. Also considering he used to serve with the Soviet military (he mentioned being in Khandahar during the Afghan-Soviet War in a later mission, if I remember properly), wouldn't he most likely be piloting an Mi-24 Hind or Mi-8? I guess he just likes the Pavelow a lot, and must've pulled some strings just to get his hands on one.

Just because the MH-53 is used by the U.S. Military doesn't mean that it can't be bought off of the civilian market. It's actually been phased out and was being retired during the time that Modern Warfare 2 was under development. It's common for equipment to change hands when they fall into disuse, for example they can be given away or sold to allied militaries, they can be purchased by civilian or other government organizations, the design concept gets acquired and reconfigured by outside contractors, or sometimes they just get sent to a scrapyard where they rust away for eternity, and during these transitions occasionally slip through the cracks and fall under the possession of individuals who have the money and interest for it. That said, the choice of helicopter was likely prompted by the Pavelow's appearance in the first Tranformers movie. But still, assuming that Nikolai's work as a PMC was lucrative enough it wouldn't be much harder to acquire a MH-53 over a Mi-8 or Mi-24. He already has the American C-130 and the MH-6 to go with it.

Just a random little dumb story for you: At 4:10 There's this sound in the background, I don't know if I'm able to discribe which sound it is, but it's a pronounced higher pitch noise, mainly heard from the left (in this instance). This sound was also heard when you played the multiplayer favela map, it's a part of the ambient noise of the favela levels. I've been hearing that sound for a very long time before I actually found out it was part of MW2. I always thought it was something IRL It drove me crazy not knowing where the sound came from. I took a break from MW2 and didn't even notice that I hadn't heard the sound anymore, when I returned a few months later and the sound returned, I finaly connected the dots and learned it was an ambient sound in the favela levels... I still don't know what the sound is supposed to represent.
