If you want to arrest somebody for driving with a suspended license, you have to attach the reckless driving charge on him because driving on a suspended license is not arrestable without a class B misdemeanor or higher charge unless he's had a prior ticket for driving under suspension

In most states Garrett Smith is correct Redbeard Anubis, the reason is because some people didn't know that it's suspended even if they are the ones who rack up the tickets or what not to cause it to be suspended they may have not known yet due to the letter stating its suspended was sent to the persons who license was suspended so cops just tow the car give them a court date to appeal the potential driving under suspension but without reckless driving or any other traffic charge they are going to give the guy a court date like i said, but then some states will arrest on suspended and state your being arrested for suspended license and gross negligence, my dad had that happen to him about 13 years ago and he did inform the officers he couldn't read and thats y he didnt listen to what the letter he got in the mail stating its suspension even though he thought it was saying he need to renew his license because he can make out some words not all and i was too young to know a lot of the words on the sheet of paper and no mother in my life so he never knew and spent a night in jail and lost his license for 10 years, so Garrett was completely correct.

This is not true for all places. This varies state by state and can even vary down to city municipalities. For some it maybe nothing more than a citation and for someone to come pick up their vehicle, some may come and impound the vehicle and some either give option or require arrest for driving on suspended. Don't use blanket statements for law. It doesn't apply everywhere.
