Batman doesn't kill. That is a fundamental trait of Batman. It's what makes him Batman. He could kill if he chose to. It’d be easy. He has the urge but he has to push it down because he has to be better than that. He has to be Batman. If Batman kills, he’s no different from every other edgy anti hero (wolverine, punisher and the rest) If he kills, it removes all the moral conflict. He's not Batman anymore if he kills.

@Mark Donald ikr. there's a difference between animation and cartoons. cartoons are specifically meant for a young audience. animation can appeal to a younger audience sometimes, but it's content is generally intended for adults/teenagers. The Killing Joke is animated but it's rated R and I certainly would not let my 10 year old sister even HEAR what's going on, let alone WATCH it with me.

The crazy thing about this is ppl say Batman don't care about anyone, shows no emotion, nor love anything but Batman actually cares a lot and it shows with all the Robins the most, he treated them like they were his kids and would do anything to protect them even give his life. Now you can say what you want but he is one hell of a man...a Batman.
@antg21838 жыл бұрын
SUEDUCE Yea but he can also be a dick. In my opinion the movies bring out the best in Batman, the comics show his dark side more for example in Under the Red Hood if I remember correctly to stop Jason from killing Joker he threw a batarang at him and it almost hit his Jugular vein. He chose a homicidal maniac over his own son which is a dick move. I don't think he's always a bad person but Batman is human which I think makes him great. He makes good and bad decisions and choices.
@SUEDUCE8 жыл бұрын
Anthony Garner He never choose Joker over him, Batman feels that if he do Kill Joker what's the point of being Batman when your just like the rest of the villains and criminals out there. It's really no point and That's what Joker want Batman to do that's why he got Tim Drake because he wanted Batman to cross a line and become what he hates most, what killed his parents a soulless killer.
@antg21838 жыл бұрын
SUEDUCE Naw dude. In my opinion of Batman handled it like this instead of the way he handled it in the comics that's a clear way of saying he's neutral but in the comic he threw the batarang and it hit Jason in the neck. In my opinion that's subconsciously choosing Joker. That's why I like the movie version better. He was more neutral. He was saying he cared for Jason but also saying he wouldn't kill Joker. The comic version was way different my friend
@SUEDUCE8 жыл бұрын
Anthony Garner Good point of view. I also think that's why Jason Todd did what he did, because Joker not only committed so many crimes but also killed so much and took Bruce Wayne's life sort of in a way when he took his parents.
@antg21838 жыл бұрын
SUEDUCE That's why I like the Batman stories as a whole. He's just a man, just like Joker. They all have choices and they all had that one little day which made them turn out the way they were. The characters evolve through everything they gotta deal with. Something other hero's like Spider-Man also gotta deal with. I love it

The one thing that I hate about Batman is that he has a very perverted view of justice. I think he is just as crazy as the Joker.
@stewartmair39956 жыл бұрын
He has a libertarian view of justice whereby people can redeem themselves through rehibilitative methods. He doesn't consider killing a criminal wrong, rather that killing an individual would cause pain to the innocent people around that individual. He sees it that we cannot use an individual as a means to our own end, and by acting on a moral imperative, he concludes that a proportional distribution of pain would be unethical to higher beings as humans. You are correct in saying that this view is perverted of "justice", but justice is a sanctamonious justification for human rage, it prevents us from acting as our higher ethical selves.

Although i still love Return of the Joker, I do take issue with one aspect of the Joker in that movie. On numerous occasions both before and after this movie, across many of his incarnations, the Joker tends to be averse to unmasking Batman. Enjoying the mystery of Batman's identity, comparing it to the comedy foul of ruining the punch line. Torturing Batman's sidekicks isn't a new idea (Jason Todd for example) but seeking Batman's identity is another. It's often assumed Joker never peeked under the mask to preserve this mystery. I think it's a special treat he's reserving for himself so that if Batman ever cracks up and goes crazy, he'll finally have no reason not to unmask him. But that's my only issue with the movie. Still one of my favorites though.

To me Mark Hamill is THE voice of the Joker, and always will be. Yes Heath Ledger gave a great performance, but it would have been so much better if they had dubbed Mark Hamill's voice over his.

Jason McCabe I agree Mark Hamill is the joker but I don't know about dubbing his voice

Ledger played a different kind of joker Hamill's joker would not have fit with it at all.

Point noted but truth be told heath ledger owned that joker hands down... So much so that his joker will be the measuring stick for all actors after him. True personification ... such a great loss
@4duanich5 жыл бұрын
I'm late but I want to say this, Mark Hamill is the voice of out joker, the one that kills you with a "POW" gun or with an electric-hand-shaker, but a joker that goes for an anarchist theme shouldn't have that voice

Oh my god, I just at 1:36 realized why Terry Mccginnis told joker off the way he did in Batman Beyond. Joker saying “it’d be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.” Are the exact same way terry says to him as well. What a trip truly love Batman.

I knew there'd be a sheep down here after that last clip. Tell me, how many encounters with cops do you actually get into?
@IWillDecimateYou7 жыл бұрын
I've had quite a few encounters with the police and I can definitely say that the police in the US are way too gun happy. I had a cop step back and put his hand on his gun because I had my thumbs in my pockets. Not my entire hands, just my thumbs. Also had a cop put his hand on his gun and ask my friend to stop eating a peanut butter cup. So yeah, fuck US police.
@AnArt19967 жыл бұрын
johnathan It's easy to tell that you aren't telling the truth. First off, if you had that encounter with a cop and he tried to pull out his gun, that means you're a suspect. And second, cops are told not to pull their guns out unless their lives are in danger. Which means, if your friend is eating candy, there's no reason to even reach for his gun. Let alone try to defend himself.
