I did my hair like this in February and I got sooooo many compliments!!! I absolutely loved it. No one could believe they were crotchets **the holes were small in some packs but I still was able to get it done, just took a little longer

I currently have these in (ombré brown color). I originally started to do my braiding pattern like yours but, I felt the same way as you. I ended up stopping at 2 packs , taking them out and did individual braids. I did crochet with individual braids and it looks so much better. It looks like individual locs. Like you said, this is something that someone should keep in for a min bc of the time and costs of the hair ($10 per pack, used 7 packs).

With that kind of style and hair, you’ve got to look at the packs loosely and take the big chunks for the top and the thinner locs for the sides and back. Those bigger chunks look funny on the sides, I’ve had to do my daughters like that. They are cute Jai.

I just did me some of these for the first time and they came out cute. Only thing i messed up on was putting more on one side (in the back) than the other...i think next time imma do some boxes on the side and in the back so i can put it up. You can probably anchor your hair with regular braid hair and then crochet the locs in.
