It wasn't until _Black Panther: Wakanda Forever_ opened that we saw that Shuri (played by Letitia Wright) succeeded to the character of Black Panther, ruler of Wakanda and did a fine job. Of course it's odd that a landlocked African country could become enemies with an underwater Caribbean nation. I wonder if more black women would have been elected to office if the movie came out before the November 2022 election instead of a week or so after? Scarlett Johansen playing Black Widow was probably the public's favorite MCU female superhero. It's too bad she didn't get her origin movie for Budapest before being killed off. Instead we got a throwback movie introducing Florence Pugh and others, which didn't do well. Brie Larson's _Captain Marvel_ did really well, coming as it did right after the end-credit scene in _Avengers: Infinity War._ It was a throwback movie to the '90s and benefited coming just before the height of Marvel's success: _Avengers: Endgame._ Unfortunately, she was overpowered. Not sure why Thanos didn't use the stones to zap her across the galaxy, but that version was just learning. It was only later that anti-fans cried "M-She-U" to try to bring down female superheroes. Had _The Marvels_ been an Avengers movie, with three guy going to the wrong planets, it could have been the same movie, only better at the box office. The most popular female superhero after Black Widow died was I believe Wanda, played by Elizabeth Olsen. Sadly, they ignored her growth in _WandaVision_ and made her an unreasonable villain (woman called her "Crazy B****") in _Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness._ Funny how a movie that makes $900 M could be considered a failure, but it was disappointing to fans on many levels (Illuminati got beat badly) and perhaps this caused subsequent MCU movies not to do as well.
