My fave mixes are with Cobalt Turquoise (PB36) too. My go-to mixes are PB36 + PO73 (DS Trans. Pyrrol Orange) and PB36 + PO48 (quin. burnt orange). I also enjoy mixing Potter's Pink & Cerulean Blue. Super granulation and I love how the two colours stay separate in the mix. Btw, I love your Pekoe... such a sweetie pie!

I'm the same, here right meow, getting mah pretty colours and mah Pekoe shot. ^-^ I have some favourite mixes but I think my current obsession is PY129 and Da Vinci's Fuchsia - probably any darkish magenta really, because it makes the most scrumptious tan to olive skin tones. Maimeriblu's Sepia and PB16, I think it's called Turquoise Green, is one of the yummiest, moodiest, weirdly dusty neutral combos I know, and I adore it.

I love mixing PB60 Indanthrone Blue and PG7 Phtalo Green for a deep teal color, though most of the time I tone it down with just a hint of orange. I also love mixing PV55 Quinacridone Purple into my skin color to make a quick and warm shadow color, it gives for beautiful three-dimensional shades.

I love those Cobalt Teal mixes, they produce an interesting variety of tones plus granulation depending on what it's mixed with. I'll definitely experiment with this. Thank you. Subscribed!

Hi Eve, I enjoy seeing these color combos! I agree with you esp on the blues for skies! In Florida, the closer you are to the coast, the more cobalt teal the sky usually is, vs a more deep blue inland. So I also associate the cobalt teal with warm weather at the beach! I think it has to do with minerals from the sea water in suspension in the atmosphere! Adorable purrs!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who also made these associations with blues and skies! Though it really makes color temperatures a lot more confusing lol

These are all super gorgeous! I've been mildly obsessed with the mixes from Maimeriblu PB16 (Don't remember what they call it - turquoise something - it's a bit on the green side compared to other PB16s I've seen) and Maimeriblu Sepia from the new line, which is PY164. Super moody and beautiful greys!

I loved the wild bright colours you got using teal mixes, they are just so much fun. You covered a lot of bases with your mixes but the fun of watercolour is finding ones that really look sumptuous. I am enjoying the greens I can achieve with my Roman Smal Adam Papke set made with the blues and yellows included plus Aquarius Green. They beat any readymade greens hands down. Am about to add some more colours and in researching them have learned the Aquarius caput mortuum is granulating, and shall add an Aquarius black too, and am really looking forward to the colour magic I can get with these. I have a huge Lukas tube of cobalt teal which I love, and it somehow works its way into things when I want its special qualities. The colours that are most daunting on their own seem to be really good in mixes, so another favourite is Chromium oxide green with chinese/zinc white and tiny additions of yellows and reds to make the most subtle of pale greens, that come out pale and strong instead of the wishy washy you get will over-diluted transparent greens. I just broke the received wisdom on blacks and whites in water colour! Admittedly not all whites and blacks are the same, So mine are a very transparent white and a highly granulating black. I just wish my full pan boxes had more space in them. Your kitty's noises were delightful!

my favorite mix which i discovered by total accent is PV23 with PG15. the green and the purple somehow neutralize into a gorgeous indigo blue

I love the mixes Daniel Smith's Carbazole Violet and Perylene Green make (haven't tried other brands yet). They make a black if you use a little violet with a lot of the green, but I also love all the moody shades in between! (Especially when mixed directly on the paper, because of the variation you get in hues.)
@jenniefrench13384 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eva I wasn't liking the DS cobalt teal. Maybe I can use it for a unique sky. It looked terrible with yellow. Very unique mixes.🤗 I love the Mayan dark blue with almost anything. It makes moody mixes oh and the Perylene violet.

Hello! I don’t know if you will read this but I really do need help. I want to start making my own old holland watercolors with the pigment they offered to sell in jars. But I do not know which three primary color to choose from as they have so many different yellows and blues and red. In your professional opinion, which three would be the best to start with a build a full palette upon? If you think there’s some other crucial colors that should be included like a purple or an earthy color please include them too! Thank you so much!!
