It is true that Whis and the other angels and Zeno still exist in that timeline, but Whis explained before earlier in the series that his role (and that of angels in general) is passive and not to act without the approval of their destruction god. And with their gods gone, there's nothing for them to do since they aren't allowed to act beyond their passive roles.

I'm pretty sure it's also stated later in the series that if a God of Destruction dies, their angel goes into some kind of stasis.

My personal head cannon for trunk's power up is that after fighting so long against black, and then goku and vegeta, he subconsciously gained some form of god ki, which he's using with his ssj forms and rage boost. And the reason he's not blue, is because he doesnt have the training or control to properly use the god forms

9:30 goku did actually hakai zamas in manga and he was erasing but thanks to mai it was failed 'cause to save her goku had to stoped his attack

Just to clarify, Super Saiyan Blue is Super Saiyan Rose. It appears as Rose because Zamasu has divine ki naturally whereas goku and vegeta create god ki from their own normal ki. Because of this difference Blue sort of mutates into Rose.

Never thought it was stupid. Since dbz we know about the potential of half saiyans. SSJ2 was triggered through rage the same way plus i think trunks deserved a power creep like that sooner.
