In TW, Faycal is not really used for damage but as a debuffer and an alert interrupt specialist. He is a great debuffer (although its random) at 3* solely because his upgraded autos does 2x hits which allows his passive to trigger twice (it triggers from damage; not action/attack); great pair with Dantalion if you need a debuff enabler for his faction buff. His 5 hits aoe also works to debuff the hell out of an enemy. You then get the Hunter's Intuition SSR accessory from voyage 16 so that his alert not only interrupts moving target but also ranged targets that tries to use a skill. Every 2 turns, he can force a unit to skip a turn. He is really good if you play to his strength (his dmg doesnt really stand out in TW now unfortunately). He is pretty damn good in difficult game modes like tower due to this.

@@revo5124 If you are referring to what i mention then the important skills are Arrow of the Sword of Convallaria, Eye for an Eye, Continuous Shooting and Raging Wind and Waves. The others are up to you. Tower tarot for best effect.

@@warofexodus I mostly use faycal for pvp. So my team is Rawiyah, Gloria, Col, Beryl, Inanna and Faycal. Would those skills priority still be the same? i dont wanna mess up

@@revo5124 well that build i mention is for debuffing and interruption with alert skills. if you are aiming for that play style its the right priority. he can still do some damage but thats not gonna be his main role. since your current team dont have much debuffs, he can fill that roll well especially once he gets his meteor line bow from voyage.

I went for Rock Climbing for my first skill since I felt like I could get more use out of more movement than a small stat damage increase that I could get from gear / levels. But I do agree both are good depending on your playstyle. Appreciate the guide for him.

Yeah, both are definitely good, but in different ways. Dharana is pretty good more consistently, but Rock Climbing I've found to be mediocre until it's not and actually becomes amazing. So it's basically a choice between consistently good (Dharana) or situationally amazing (Rock Climbing)

The bow we get from the beginner guidebook is the bow that casts debuffs on single target attacks. It seems like they want us to build active debuffer faycal and not the crit reaction faycal. They also give us the lens which buffs in higher elevation which seems like they want us to pick the instant buff to his movement and jump. But it also has crit so idk

Hes an awesome unit to get for free. Love that the reaction hits everybody that comes in to range not just the first enemy. Ill get the movement stuff later because it seems early game all the enemies bum rush you any way.

I think the reactions are actually better even for debuffing, you get to debuff when you strike back/alert anyways. it's mostly rank 11 that determines if you are dmg or debuff. Gale is just a bigger burst dmg tho.

@@IthquaisChibi no, the buff disappeared when your faycal new turn start. So basically you'll get 30% buff even when you do strike back, so it's important to maintain your distance at least 2 tiles.

I did test if his alert attacks are line-of-sight, and it does not appear they are. That being the case, I would love to know if upgrading his basic to the x2 attack would allow him to double-tap on reaction attacks. If so, then he has doubled his debuff procs in a full reaction build. If anyone tests this, please let me know.

@@drwps. I don't mean that at all. Any hit does. However, the only time you will be stacking debuffs via multiple rounds of attacks is vs a boss. In which case, you wouldn't be using alert attacks anyway. You want his RK 11 multi-hit, to maximize debuffing, and presumably the multi-hit basic, if it would proc on each hit as well. As I see it, Faycal can actually be pretty decent for general use (using Alerts, and full "attacks not on turn" gear build), and one of the best debuff-stackers in game, vs bosses. The drawback is that these are two completely different builds, requiring completely different gear, and at least 1 castalia (arguably up to 3), to be able optimize both. The opposite RK 11 ability is mandatory for both builds. He may not be good enough to justify the full investment, and he would be very weak trying to employ one build in the opposing game modes. Even for a single build, neither can fully function w/o the appropriate RK 11, so he is one of the slowest to reach full potential. I suspect this leads to very few people really trying to optimize him for late-game, as they have more options for characters by the time he could reach RK 11, and they probably don't view him as worth investment by that point.

@@danelmore6553 i fully agree on that Castalia usages (about 2 or 3) since he just cant go 1 route only. he's currently included in the strongest 5 in my team, and i dont regret it. his Alert skill (especially the interrupting one) saves my ass so many times! quite shocking for a low tier Legendary though. and yes, i think he's kinda good in late game, and boss stages only (in terms of being a debuffer with multi hit systems)

@@drwps. ultimately, it's just a matter of space. As you pull units like saffi, Inna, Gloria, beryl, it gets harder and harder to find him a spot. But I agree that interrupt alert is very strong, especially for tower bosses.

@@mooseclamps i can say with confidence, not that much. MOST of the stages started at the bottom which is a disadvantage for us and makes his skill look appealing BUT you have to know that when you give a lot of movement to faycal and you manage to get to the higher ground then that means your faycal is very likely to get targeted. For example there's a stage in ToC you started at the bottom of the stairs and needs to climb up meanwhile facyal can just skip stairs and go straight BUT a lot of enemies are waiting in there.
