Your games have changed my life and have helped me through so much. Nothing has had a bigger impact on me and I really just wanted to say thank you. Please continue to make games, inspire other people like you've inspired me. I found your game To The Moon during one of the darkest times of my life. I was just diagnosed with PTSD and I was so depressed and I couldn't stand living but your work kept me going. I listened to the music to cheer myself up and I don't know if I would be here if it wasn't for To The Moon and you.

and some animes also better than some "real-life" movies. but some ppl close their eyes when it comes to anime. like this game. maybe at first, some ppl was like.. "meh. a classic retro pixel game. maybe a bad game". and after they dive into this game's world, BOOM! an amazing journey
@everythingsalright11216 жыл бұрын
RPG maker isn't bad at it's core, if you ask me. But to make something like To the Moon, or Finding Paradise requires a massive amount of time and dedication. There's a reason that their game looks, plays, and relates to you better than the majority of games out there that are made in it. I think if you gave Kan enough time with another engine, he could do the same thing. But RPG maker has a sort of...charm to it in it's simplicity that is perfect for telling a story like this.

My favorite quotes.. wonderful game. "It's what makes fleeting moments with loved ones treasured, and our memories precious." Mister Kan Gao, I just wanna say thank you so much for making this game. When I went into Finding Paradise, all I wanted was a game that would be around as good as To The Moon, which are already very high expectations. I didn't expect something that could take the same formula and tell a wonderful, beautiful and intriguing story that takes the core of TTM and builds on it. I think the soundtrack on TTM is definitely "catchier"and more varied but the way you used the Scale Theme and Faye's Theme as leitmotifs throughout the game was much more powerful for me. (Side note: I have a theory that the rising and falling tone of Faye's Theme imitates the flapping of a bird's wings) I like how the story in FP has more mystery. I feel in general that FP told a more universal story. Even though the point of interest was a girl just like TTM, it wasn't because of some sappy romantic relationship (not that there's anything wrong with that - I am just so happy it wasn't reused for FP / also I don't want to mention too much here coz spoilers...) Writing is always amazing and the animation and graphics are improved. This turned from a thank you letter to a mini-review. In short, I just really mean it when I say I loved this game. I pray you continue making stories because of your inspiration and motivation to tell them. Lastly, if you ever make TTM and FP movies, I really hope they can match the games so that others can also appreciate the story.

A message of hope and love from an old friend long forgotten, but never gone. A message of hope and promise that you would lead a better life. An expression of joy and optimism for a future where she wouldn't be necessary. Except that future is now the past. The promise has been fulfilled. Her hopes have been vindicated, as she knew they would be. There is nothing left to hope for, for you have not only attained a happy life, but lived it to the end. She has always been there for you... and now you are no longer there for her.

The most powerful memories I have are really illustrated in this game. Faye being an encouraging friend when Colin needed her. The loneliness driving him to first dream her up. The fact that she came back to him in the end, and the wishes she represented for him. I felt the same way when I was young. I had an imaginary friend I held on to for years, maybe not to the degree of Colin but definitely to the point where when I let her go, it was bittersweet. I had to learn how to fly on my own, and it came back to me playing this game. The same growth Colin had is one I went through too. I'm stronger for it, but I also realize that part of me is always there still. Thank you, Melody, for always being a guiding part of me that gave me what I needed. I have finally come to love all of myself, and you were part of that journey. Whoever you truly were, a part of my mind made manifest or an angel sent from God, I just thank you for the years you spent with me.

I don't think the masses could say it enough Kan that the work you do is Absolutely astounding. You write and make these stories that cause people to want to look at their life and see what they can do better for themselves, snaps people to reality that everything's alright despite the hardest of times. your games are an outright inspiration to a lot of people and I wish they would get such a higher form of recognition than they do, I tried to get even my family to take a look because it's so much worth it. I hope one day that there isn't a soul that hasn't seen what these games and this music has to offer, it's perspective changing and I wouldn't have my life any other way, i'm more than glad I stumbled across To The Moon after burning my hand and binge watching a playthrough cuz at the time I didn't have a machine with steam on it or anything that could handle it, Now that I do these games remain my favorite.
