I really enjoyed chatting with Farhan Akhtar, but there was one question I forgot to ask: Is he anything like the character he played in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara? What do you think-Is Farhan Akhtar similar to Imraan in real life? Drop your thoughts below!”
@DrSujataV3 ай бұрын
Faye, can I suggest that you and Farhan drop the “failed marriage” and “broken family” terminology? There’s so much judgment implied there and I’m sure you both are not highly judgmental individuals.

I guess, interviewee used it first and those are quite common words in arts fraternity especially cinema. There's no point shying away from it.

@fayedsouza - just a thought that these interviews while well intended are going into bollywood space and that’s not the kind of content i look forward to you for. This content is expected from anupama chopra who is a reputable film journalist. Nothing wrong with the content but it seems like you are unclear/perhaps confused about the kind of content you might want to cater to? If this is intentional then that’s fine. Also to be clear nothing wrong with the kind of content. It is the genre or space in which you wish to be

You are an amazing interviewer! Thank you for asking him about that garbage film “Animal”. He was very diplomatic and careful but I am glad he admitted the character was problematic. My favorite film journalists Anupama Chopra and Sucharita Tyagi would not dare to ask him this question as they are more entrenched in the industry.

Best part of this podcast is Farhan diplomatically / professionally handling the Animal question like a Corporate CEO (Faye was expecting Tears and outburst for trailer and Thumbnail) - He Praised Director Sandeep Vanga - He praised the Actor - Ranbir - He praised the producer - (Kids should learn never to ridicule their own industry in front of an Independent Reporter) / he said it didn’t resonate with him personally and professionally he doesn’t have any right to instruct others what to make - He is true son of Javed Saab - He praised Audience if they liked it they liked it - WE LEARN PROFESSIONALISM FROM THIS SECTION / movie didn’t work for me either

There wouldn't have been anything wrong even if he was straight up honest about the movie being vulgar and harmful. In fact that would have shown that he had a spine and that he wasn't terrified of other men in the industry taking away opportunities. It takes a spine and bravery to really speak your mind for what is right instead of beating around the bush in the name of professionalism

Farhan Akhtar has always seemed like that comfortable ally, when it comes to men. Like I don’t feel the sense of hostility. Like we have space to talk about things and address issues rather than harassing each other. I would be so comfortable around a man such as him. Is it really so hard to be an empath? I think not!

I always admire Farhan's versitality. DCH is still my favourite movie. Lakshya was also too good. That core simplicity was not there in Don series. Farhan is an amazing director. Wish he directs more movies like DCH and Lakshya. This is the first interview of Farhan which I saw. Apart from the most versatile talents in the industry, he is so sorted with amazing clarity of thoughts and so grounded and simple. It was lovely to know the brain behind such a great talent. Wish you direct more films 😊 You are a true gem.

I really enjoyed watching this interview. Farhan's thoughtfulness and lucidity of thought came through. I found the narrative around rape and implying that those who are dissatisfied with their social and economic place in life might use it as a means to lash out to be a bit misguided frankly and v problematic. It implies that those who are privileged (socially, economically) are not violent against women which is as we know is inaccurate (look at the number of MPs with such charges!). I think one should not rationalize rape or even try to. It is the manifestation of a sick mind and a festering culture.

What a comment- the comfort faith can give… I cannot go completely to atheism exactly because of this. I think it requires a very strong mind to not believe in a higher power… The first adversity comes and things are beyond our control is the time when we want to believe someone is watching out for us

Great podcast Faye. Podcast of such type help us to understand human mindset better. My opinion is that, Wisdom or Knowledge is at its best when shared with fellow human. So sharing some belief. " Faith" give us a great sense of understanding life better & help us to solve life crisis & tackle negativity to its core. "Faith" if interpreted well, can tell you how ego, pride, anger, jealousy, greed, lust can make a human guilty from within either in shame or fear. And why love, peace & forgiveness is so important in life for we human, to keep humanity alive...😊👍 ,

@HappyLilJimmy2 ай бұрын
Farhan is wrong about one thing , Comparing Big B and SRK is justified because SRK surpassed Big Bs popularity per capita across pan India more or less and even more worldwide with NRI’s and Foreigners alike , he put Bollywood on the map again internationally after the gap left by Raj Kapoors peak and Established YRF as the leading distributor outsider india . Ranveer has none of that , Ranveer has not come close too surpassing SRKs popularity per capita , definitely not pan india , and not with NRIs or foreigners like a Aamir Khan for example . And that was all done by the time SRKs Don even came out . So Farhan comparing them is disingenuous too say the least , I bet he’s a producer and he’s selling his product but let’s be real now .
