Kia orana Faye and Tangaroa,For so long it’s been a tradition for myself and my adult kids who are Samoan /cook island to watch yous in your cook island journey.We are sadden to hear about the news.Unfortunately this is the harsh reality of a lot of families returning back to the Cook Islands claiming land.Greed,money and dodgy deals is what we are faced with.So proud of yous for speaking up and doing it with respect.I hope by this video more families will be brave enough to do the same and speak their journeys so things may change Look forward to your next video.

Kia Orana, Thank you for your kind words, the love from you guys made me cry, blurring my vision as Tangaroa, wanted me to read to him all the comments. The hurt was from within his own sibling circle. So this brother, lives in NZ, doesn’t do anything to contribute to making the land better, but blocks his older brother from doing up the place. So what is he going to do now? Probably the same as he always has, Nothing! Oh well, it’s best to walk away because that land now, as my husband said, has left a bitter taste in his mouth now. It's so funny, Auntie-I have the same instinct when observing how people move, but my husband always tries to see the good in them, while I'm like, 'Nope, I ain't,' and it's amusing how it eventually shows up, leading to that aha moment. The sad part of this story is, I mentioned a few times to my husband that one of his brothers was giving me this vibe that, he was holding a grudge towards him for some reason? My husband always says, “I don’t think my brother is like that to me” Ahhh look now, I was right! Now my my husband is angry at him and saying that he’s no longer his brother oi sole, dramatic 😅 We can’t take land with us. But it would’ve been nice to make something of it. Take care niece. This is so sad to hear, and honestly speaking, Land is the major cause for family disputes, dramas, separations and feuds here in the Cook Islands. All for one thing, “Money” and “Greed”. Whats so funny is the ones that are greedy for it, cant even build on the land, instead they lease it out or use it to secure a loan or even leave the land empty. Its sad but its true. Anywho, i wish you both the very best in your future endevours, go travel and spend your well earned money on yourselfs. Life is short to spend fighting with eggs🤷🤷 much love💯💯💯

That’s so true! The land stood abandoned for years. Unkept and unloved. So for his brother to do what he did, what a waste of time guy. I feel you, Faye. My clan has grown apart because of land dispute. My mom's instruction before she passed away was to stay away from property disputes. It's not worth the fight. My mom's cousins died without forgiving each other because of land. My take is, as long as your conscience is clean, you'll be fine. God can see everything and He's got a better plan for you.

Sorry for my late reply.. We have applied with our own money for the lawyer/land agent, to return the land back into their mother’s name. That’s why we went there to do it. The brother in question, that reported to the land court of the 5 years lapse, left the place in a mess and doesn’t care about the land. But out of spite, he went ahead and did his older brother like he did. But that’s on him. At least now Tangaroa, can relax and leave it alone. But their relationship is no longer there. I’ll talk to him to forgive his brother. No good holding on to anger or animosity. Take care and Thank you for your comment ❤❤ God bless

And my husband loves his siblings and always happily speaks fondly of them and I liked that they have a good bond because of their dad’s strong influence that they ought to be there for one another. How time has changed when one of his own, did the unthinkable. Elvis said, he could never hurt any of his siblings the way, he’s been hurt. I told my dear husband, not to think about it. Be grateful that we have our life to live and don’t stress himself about it. Everything happens for a reason Yvonne. @@fayevids7391 I'm heartbroken for you both my more so for your children and mokos...I thought I put a post up explaining my situation...Fay I went thru the same thing but not quite the same..but it still devastated me to the point where I cut ties with my siblings (3) my mum died few years ago had big land in Arorangi... unbeknown to me my two brothers leased the land to Brett Baudinet my sister knew...my mum left the land equally for her 4 children...sadly death greed money certainly changes people...and now they are building raros first ever 5 star resort on my mother's land...my land...but I had no say...by the time I found out it was on the cook islands paper...how devastated was Iy heart broke into a million pieces and I keep asking myself....why... how..I'm from the Heather family in Raro...all of them sad to see how things have panned out...we all live in NZ but they still manage to sneak behind my back and do what they did...I cry because I will never live to see my children take what is rightfully there's...my siblings could have partition the land equally and build on there's...but no money and greed and the asshole who they leased the land too...he was a devil communicated withy siblings but not me...there's no way I would lease my mum's land to anyone..I only found out this year...mum died 2018..I wanted to rebuild on her land build a family home for all to share.. but they had other ideas...I hope Tangaroa gets support from his other siblings and continue what you started...he has every right to build... Tangaroa has a good heart I can tell from all the videos I have watched...you are strong... Also had to take some time after this vlog watching it 3 times getting my tears on and yes it was emotional before I replied Unfortunately that’s something that happens and I’m so sorry that it happened to Uncle Tangaroa, I can only imagine what it is… and I know the way that uncle described it so eloquently with mana and respect. It’s his humility that is the person. One thing I can say is people/ family are nunui enua. And you are correct when you looking from the outside you can see the “good” and honest ones and then you can see those who to your face are pretty and smiling but then turn them around just a bunch of hypocrites! I’m doing some stuff for my nieces as their parents are deceased so I’m acting on their behalf and man before lovely lovely but now the family are two face! They think cos my nieces are young they will give in to them cos they are older, but no they me on their side and now as they POA. Anyways that’s besides the point. I wish I had caught up with you both during this visit just to ensure that you had some distraction while being here. Don’t stop coming over and if Uncles health is better here then I pray there is a way!! Aweee Kia Orana John, Tangaroa is still upset about the betrayal by his younger brother. This brother for whatever reason he decided to do what he did, I hope he’s happy. He left the places with all his rubbish down to broken down cars, bikes, washing machines as he use to do repairs, and moved to NZ, we removed everything and started to clear for the build. I guess when a family member has bad intentions, they will show who they are. You know when Elvis, stayed back for 8 weeks? It was that time he stayed back to fight for the land given to him. It’s his mother’s land. Tangaroa thought it was his aunty. But found out later that it was his brother.. what a shocker! But good on you for helping your nieces. Our family home in Rarotonga was vacant, run down and in need of major repairs - a real eye sore. I offered to loan the money from the bank to get it up totop spec but the property had to be transfered in my name. One of my siblings disagreed and we had a huge fall out over it. Not sure what state it's in ATM, but my relationship with my sibling is non existent.

That’s what happened to my husband and their mother’s land. Elvis cleaned it, got plans drawn from an architect and had things rolling.. but his younger brother made sure to ruin the plans but has no intention of putting his own money to fix the place or anything. Elvis is now saying, he’s not my brother! I love him and all my other siblings and could never do it to him.. So you and my husband, are now in the same situation. Sad.. Yes, I told my husband about my suspicions and I was right. The one who did it, was the one I told Elvis about. 8 weeks of stress and money fighting for the land and then to find out it was his own brother? Wow, what a brother huh, who needs enemies when you have him.. And he doesn’t even want to live in Rarotonga that brother.. he’s in NZ. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I told my husband don’t worry about it. It will only stress himself out more if he doesn’t stop thinking about it. More to life than to dwell on things that we have no control of. Thank you for your comment. Kia Orana Dalmeny, how are you? Tangaroa does have family land in Aitutaki. The land that Tangaroa wanted to fix and live in it, was his mother’s house. So that’s why it’s always been Rarotonga. Because the land was abandoned and messy. But his brother, don’t care about fixing the situation rather, he blocked his own brother from looking after the land. I’m over it to be honest. I just want Tangaroa to stop thinking about it cos he’s going to stress out instead of enjoying life. Family issues 😅 Better things ahead aye Dalmeny 😂❤ Thank you for commenting. I love watching and listening to your videos. I came past you in Avarua while you were recording and said hello to you. I know you have had plenty of people who have said hello in passing. I am saddened to hear your experience with the whanau. Many of us who have returned who wanted to settle have had this experience especially with those you thought would help and support you. My encouragement is don't settle for what they say because they are greedy for land. Fight for your potion because it is rightfully yours! Do it for your whanau. They won't realise it now but will be forever grateful in the future that you fought for them to have a place called home. Don't let those who tell you otherwise. God WILL make a way. Well I’m staying positive and I told my husband, we can continue life without worrying about that land now. Elvis now knows who stopped the project to happen and he’s not happy about it. I’m happy that my husband can now relax from thinking about that land. Leave the land that his brother that wanted Tangaroa to loose it, cup it up for him and hope he’s happy… I only want Tangaroa to not worry about it anymore. Yes, It does mean we won’t be building in Raro. We were prepared with the builder waiting, the plans already drawn up but it took one person to disturb what we were going to do. Im not sure whats changed to make you not able to stay in Cooks? Sorry to hear that. It seems you both are at a crossroad at the moment. I hope you find your place and peace and get settled somewhere. As for talking about the "person" issue....can you just not avoid them ...and is that is what is affecting your Cook Island stay? Can you not just do your own thing in the Cooks without the "loose ends" ???? I understand about family..you can love them but not LIKE them sometimes! Sadly. Why not consider living in Samoa? The land Elvis asked for was his mother’s land.. they first gave it but one of his brothers manipulated everyone to change their minds and take back the land. Hi Iti, I play around too much. Tangaroa is the serious one and there I am fooling around 🤭 Lands don’t mean anything to me and I’m being honest. I was supporting my husband and enjoying visiting Rarotonga 😊👍🏼 Years of planning and money, went into preparation, and that’s one of the things that my brother inlaw didn’t care about. To me it’s a relief, now my husband and us, we don’t have to worry about it now. Life continues and God is Loving. 😊 Take care Iti, Thank you for your support ❤❤❤ God bless

Thank you. Yes, what has happened was a shocking experience. Especially that a brother, did it.. very sad that it happened. I hope my husband can over look his brother’s actions.
