To all the vt fans on message broads this is beyond a recruiting issue. Sometime you just have to play with what you have duke perfect example of that. Also this team has not improved from year 1 to year 2 that is on coaching. Also the offensive line should have had a big turnover look at colorado state they went out and got all new linemen through the portal so it can be done.

Just to get in before the inevitable "WHY CAN'T YOU MIC THE REPORTERS???" crowd - it's a mobile setup at an away stadium, they're not traveling with a wireless system that gives them an easy handheld mic to pass around (like they have in the Lane press room) and have to make it work in whatever space Rutgers gives them.

Congrats to Rutgers. Hard to compete with 6 starters out in the midst of a rebuild but like what I saw from Drones and love the culture Coach Pry is building. He’s doing it right and this will be the right approach for the long term. Go Hokies!

We have making excuses for our coaches since that first ODU loss in 2018. Five years of rebuilding, injuries, blah blah blah. Do we have someone who knows how to build a program? Whit can’t seem to hire a winner in FB

I think you pose a good question; what’s a reasonable turnaround timetable? I would say 3-5 years. Prime brought his son and the best recruit in the nation. He squeaked by CSU and with the injury bug now hitting his team, let’s see how the year plays out for them. Regrading Pry, I like our recruiting pipeline and as bad as our OL is, they are young. If he can develop them over the next 2-years and develop Pop or Belfort behind them then this is the building of a 8 win team within a 3-5 year period. I think that’s an acceptable expectation myself. Go Hokies!

I think, this is the start of the end for Pry and his staff. Just a matter of how soon. Look this way, Beamer / Foster = 10win seasons, Fuente = 6win seasons, Pry = 3win seasons (trending that way).

Shame Pry didn't have a star QB son to bring with him huh? Tell me about your knowledge and experience of CFB Coaching AND recruiting in a small town in a weak ACC FB conference? SEC and Big 10 making 30-50mil more a year just in TV revenue makes things a LOT different than the middle of Beamers era. People forget the first 6 years and the last 5! I still remember the infamous 3-3 Wake celebration and eventual 6-3 OT loss. Then to find out Shane had all the inside info on their offensive play calling made that loss even worse. Why eddiots have selective memory is beyond me.🤣

Hugh Freeze was the man to hire, and the athletic director went and hired this, nothing. He brings nothing to make a top Recruit, want to sign with him. He has the nerve to be doing that local Toyota dealership commercial, while he is coaching a terrible team. Lol he took a helicopter to Salem to try 😊and impress a Recruit he had no chance of signing. The only thing he could do good is give us some enjoyment and play the SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS, SO WE CAN SEE SHANE BEAMER BEAT UP ON HIS HOME SCHOOL, SHANE WOULDN'T COACH TECH FOR $10 MILLION A YEAR, THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, KILLED TECH FOOTBALL STARTING A YEAR BEFORE FRANK BEAMER LEFT, A disgrace to play SANDMAN, ANY LONGER.

I am no expert, but I think the team is making mistakes in year 2 that really well-coached teams do not make. Coach Pry is a great guy, but to me, he looks like an average coach. He is doing the best he can, remember, Whit Babcock hired a head coach with no head coaching experience, and it is showing!!!

Much respect to this guy but he's not a head coach he also made some terrible staff hires with him being a 1st time head coach. I honestly don't see how this can get any better techs program has falling so low seems impossible to fix at this point pry definitely isn't the guy to do it. Vt needs a major overhaul from pry his coaches,players,athletic director this is beyond pitiful.

Tired of him thanking the team who just kicked your ass. Just say one thing nice about the team and move in to questions…Pry too nice of a guy. He needs to get angry and let it rip and quit sugarcoating things. Our defense can’t stop the run, our DT’s are undersized and get owned each game, our LBs constantly miss assignments. Our Oline is pathetic. Bowen is not a OC and Marve may be too young to be leading the D here. This is all on the HC.
