So um, realized after the fact that the audio is out of sync with the video by about a second. Hopefully won't take away from appreciating the slamming chunes. Could have equalized the audio better too, but my source material wasn't the best quality but it still sounds reasonably okay to me.

MAN, u're too fucking good. This , is making me go crazy like the first time..... no joke. And just to let u know, i havent gone out in a long time. But u would make me WALK to Canada to come listen...and also u are positively making me be more relaxed/change my mind about the nazi view i got on doing only with vinyl and technics. This is too good, and u definitly lift things up with your selections and entering points/energies. Loving EvREY SiNglE trAcK Man to BITS ...and u are working that mixer like a old school Demi-God ! ( ok...i'll stop for now...lol ).

LOL.. I missed this message. That's awesome. I respect the vinyl thing though -- I have bunch of vinyl that I collected in the early 90s. Vinyl is hardcore and the art of making and collecting it should be preserved by all means necessary. There's nothing like hearing layered sounds of music off an analog source. As for now, KZbin is my iTunes despite the tracks not being encoded in high def to avoid getting copyright flagged, I guess. Better than nothing though. I'm currently putting together my playlist for the next mix. I have a lot of hard driving tunes, but it's getting harder to top the previous mixes. I mentioned before too that I have a real 303 and 909. One of these days once I can program the 909 quickly and mix things up, I'll see if I can loop in some banging 909 patterns into my mixes a la Jeff Mills. I'm in Britain occasionally (you're in the UK, right?). When I'm there next I'll give you a shout and we could grab lunch or something if you're cool with that.

Your dj sets reveal an above average musical culture and mixing technique!!! Greetings from Portugal!!!

Very kind of you! I'm just a novice living room DJ that has been listening to house and techno since 1986. Greetings from Canada! I will say though that Portugal has a growing number of brilliant techno producers. My favourite producer right now is CRAVO from Lisbon. His productions are amazing with some of them showing his clear Portuguese culture. kzbin.info/www/bejne/maOqp4Cvbbasirs cravomusic.bandcamp.com/track/after-siesta I will be including at least or two of his tracks in my next mix, which will have a good amount of afro-sounding techno tracks by Mark Williams and Oliver Ho. I might even throw in a few afro house tracks too. Thanks again for stopping by, JohnPaul. Hopefully once I get my new gear set up my mixes will be even more entertaining to those who listen. I have drum machines and a new mixing deck now too.

@@Ν11-φ9ρ By the way, if you or Classic want the MP3 for this set, let me know. The volume on it is a bit loud but with your volume up about halfway, you won't risk blowing any speakers up.

Yeah. Problem (well not really) with Advent's stuff is they're all like 150BPM; way too damned fast. My sweet spot for tech is 140BPM. That's what I recorded this at. I think the last mix I did was 144BPM, but I will rarely go over 140.

@@Ν11-φ9ρ Man, I appreciate it. Really. I've just been listening to this music for a very long time. I've always been pretty particular about keeping it real with the authentic stuff. Been listening to Chicago hard house (and acid) since about '86, then listened to bleep stuff out of Britain and +8 stuff out of Windsor, Canada (Hawtin, etc.) in the early '90s, then onto second wave Detroit tech with Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, etc. Sleep well man. Let's catch up later.

Yo Classic, much appreciated man! Huge compliment! I know it's been awhile since I put up a mix -- hopefully I'll have another one up in the next week or two. I learned something pretty important about preparing my tracks. I literally have to beatgrid tracks that have a million high hats because they're unmixable if I don't, and I can't maintain their tempo. Fortunately it's really easy to do in Virtual DJ 8.
