This really shows how honda softened up the 9th gen a bit to be more street driveable with the increased torque at the cost of other things though. Also they softened up the springs and dampers compared to the 8th gen to make it more comfortable I seriously love the 9th gen gauge cluster though.

I just traded my 2011 fa5 for a 9th gen sedan I’ll say this man the interior is not bad on a 8th gen but the features and looks of 9th gen is just miles better I feel like it has more si injected but motor wise it’s tough the k20 sounds better for sure but that torque on that k24 is so much better especially on the highway I don’t have to downshift to pass over all the 9th gen is better

Hey man I recommend you get motor mounts or at least rear torque mount for your rattling downpipe, the rattling is the downpipe hitting the subframe when the motor flexes in the engine bay. It also makes shifting a little smoother and less drivetrain loss as well. Also the 9th gems are built for more mid range because of the intake manifold and the exhaust cam, the rbc will definitely make it drive like a true k series.

That was a great race as expected. I've owed several Si's and Integra/RSXs. The K20 was one of the best NA motors Honda ever built. High RPM is really sweet. Dynos I've seen without the RBC showed the K20 having more HP near redline than the K24. Down low and mid range was all K24 of course. If you wanted to stay NA, slapping on a K20 head would make your car a beast.

COILOVER RECOMMENDATION: BuddyClub Sport Spec. Reason being is because the spring rate are dailyable and they are inverted monotube, which is usually something that’s found on higher priced coilovers. The price is $900-$1000.

Don’t get rbc on 9th Gen, you lose all that mid range power. I’ve beat the ones with rbc on a stock manifold with no problem. Ask any tuner they will tell you. It’s not worth it.

@@srtjerome2902 you benefit from the metal RBC manifold when boosted because of it being able to hold boost pressure better and not change its shape as boost is applied, but N/A the loss in low end isn’t worth the gain on the top end in my opinion, ruins drivability and only have any power at all above 5k rpm

May be late but you should go with wheels. His wheels are lighter and helped with that acceleration. RFPF1 are the most common and cost effective.

I have TruHart StreetPlus on my 9th gen coupe. Have had no issues, comfortable ride. Love them, have had them on for 10 months 9k miles. (Daily a CRV). Great budget coilovers

Im Not Sure If You Know But In Canada They Have A Car Called The Acura CSX Type S, Which is just a more luxury version of the 8th gen si, and it comes stock with the jdm style headlights and tailights. Aswell as Heated Leather Seats And Navigation

Rev 9 are amazing coilovers, they work tremendously, and are very cheap for what you get, I was going to go with racelands but when I saw how much more it was to go for rev 9 and how much more it brings and just the overall quality, I just had to go with them

To be expected. You can see the power bands in action just off the hits, you get him for a bit cause of that mid range than he slowly pulls at the top end. Would be interesting to see at a circuit track off the corners. The 8th gens gotta really be like 220whp.

If you like cheap coils get the Tein Basis. Can’t go wrong with BC. You get what you pay for. I’ve run Tein’s on a few cars and I like the ride. It feels almost stock

i have d2 coilovers on my 10th gen si! i love the ride. generally they all will be great if you get a mono tube fully adjustable. just go more for spring rates. that will give you a better general sense on how they will feel.

Highly recommend Tein Flex Z coilovers, you get really good quality for the price. You have adjustable damping as well which to me is pretty handy in the roads of NYC. Been a year since I’ve installed them have I don’t have any issues with them.

Not a knock at your tuner but your car should make more than that, it should be around 215. If you are planning to upgrade more stuff do the throttle body with spacer, pulleys and get a different tuner. My 9th was sitting at 221/189 with stock manifold cause I didn’t want to lose torque.

Raceland coilover bro, 1 to 3 inch drop comes with everything exept rear shock bushings and front strut mounts, all for 400ish. They also have a lifelong warranty which even includes wear so basically you never have to buy another set again unless you need a different type. Who beats a lifelong warrantry with wear included?!

Godspeed coil overs are good for the price. Good quality. Also I think if the 9th gen had the oil pump and RBC manifold. It would be identical almost in a race if not you’d pull up top due to more torque. Liked this video a lot gave me an idea of how my car will do with a 8th gen with the same mods. In the process of porting an RBC to go with a ZDX throttle body and RDX injectors. I have downpipe, custom velocity stack intake, flash pro, custom 2.5 exhaust. Still looking for a reputable tuner because I’m tired of running on a basemap

Isn't it totally wild how the 30 lb.ft torque difference in the 9th gen is totally negated by the lack of 1000 extra rpm, it's crazy how the immediate pull is about the same and then you shift and he just pulls pretty hard away from you. Not sure if the k24 also has longer gearing and taller final drive ratio but it sure seems like it, if they were the same ratio trans the k24 should jump ahead at the snap with all that extra torque, but it doesn't. I've always said k20 rules all. To get the potential out of the k24 you have to tune it for at least 7500rpm which is quite abusive to those motors. They can be rang out to 7800 if the setup is right. I'd love to see how a tuned external header k24a2 tsx motor swapped into a 9th gen civic runs against the Integral exhaust manifold style stock 9th gen civic si motor. Gotta love Honda's eh, the glory VTEC days ended in 2012 in my opinion. What a time it was, '92 to 2012, 20 yrs of VTEC dominance ain't bad eh! I'll take a 95 GSR teggy over any car today and anyday....... forever ❤

Mine does the same thing. Sometimes 3rd or 5th won't go in. I thought it was the clutch. My stock clutch can be really tricky and snaps back on me. It's hard to drive slow and smooth sometimes.

First when I bought my 8th gen one of my buddies had a 15 9th gen with a ktuned 3" short ram, 72mm throttle body and a custom exhaust not tuned and he was always saying that he was going to beat my 8th gen but sadly I raced him a lot of time and ended up beating him everytime and I only had a injen short ram and a custom muffler delete and even raced an em1 sir with the b16a2 that had a full exhaust and header intake and tuned and still manage to get around him

Again, I really dig the content bro; keep up the good work. But man, of course an 8th gen is going to have an edge versus your 9th gen. Don't get me wrong, you have done things very proper, and I 100% respect and like your build. But damn dude, I have owned 4 hondas, granted none were K series. Two of those were h22a4's, and Honda's true dohc vtec/i-vtec is the absolute highlight of their technology, without a doubt. I bet you with an RBC intake mani and reflash you would be right there with him, because you can tell you currently have more midrange power than his k20, but he takes you on the top end, which that intake mani and retune would help with.

I ran a k24 swap Fbo e85 8th gen in my 9th gen I only got test pipe,tune an cold air we were even neck and neck on a 60 roll but we also did a 40 roll an he beat so idk how you lose Fbo vs Fbo I’m sure I’d beat him if I was Fbo as well

If you would have had lighter rims than those stock ones, you would have smoked him. On the 9th gen’s it makes all the difference in the world getting lighters rims. He had HPF’s so he had so a huge advantage over you. It’s just as good as a downpipe and tune on these cars.
