3:40 opponent could have played a much more lethal pass that wasn't covered. It isn't possible to go man for man and cover every passing lane but the overall goal should be to stop your opponent from getting close to your goal so you need to prioritise covering the passing lanes that will move them up the pitch rather than the lateral ones. Just because it worked once in this video doesn't mean it's an effective or the correct way to cut passing lanes.

How do you contain? Everyone seems to know how to do it? I hold jockey and running jockey and get left for dead, everyone else contains???? How do you do that?

It takes some practice to get down the movement and positioning correctly. Probably you overcommit to one direction and then the opponent gets past you the other way. Try to stay a bit more neutral and move backwards instead of into the attacker

The defending in this game is a breath of fresh air. The defending on FC 24 was a nightmare

Are you serious? I guess you’re not seeing nearly the amount of cheap, unskilled rebound goals that the rest of us are. People just spam bad angle shots for ugly rebounds or spam LB+Y trying to mess with player switching and it works more often than it should. Way more. FIFA used to be a series based on finger/thumb speed, IQ and vision. Now it’s become Billy button masher’s favorite game.

@@filipfico4449 defending used to be MANUAL a long time ago. It’s so weird now. You can play a through ball to your striker with both CBs on either side of him, and sometimes the ball will just bobble in between the 3 players before the striker gets through on goal. ALL THE ATTACKING PLAYER HAS TO DO IS MAKE A THROUGH BALL AND HOLD FORWARD WHILE MASHING THE TACKLE BUTTON LOLLLLL. That’s the skill in this game. Playing 💩 that might work but probably won’t, but hey let’s try it anyway. It’s a legit offense. Spamming LB+Y around the 18 yard box and mashing the shoot button might trip out the player switching or have a favorable bobble/bounce occur so why not keep doing it? All you need is a goal from that, a goal from another cheap exploit and maybe one off a corner. Fukc skill, let’s just make sure we score more matter how unskilled or ugly. That’s EAFC, FIFA for the past decade at least. This game cries out for 💩ty players. I’m not saying good players can’t succeed at it. But shitty players can succeed too. That was never the case on old FIFA games prior to 15. Definitely not on XBOX360/PS3 and older systems.
