Was wondering when we'd see this again. :P

I've been trying to make more videos of it for a while, didn't have a good way to use alarms with it until I got the board ready!

kcin556 I think that's a pretty slick way of doing it. Then if you need the board on another system you just disconnect and move, simple as that.

That's the plan!

How the HELL were you able to test the i3 with a magnet? I'm fairly certain it can only be tested via a screwdriver inserted into the test hole, but somehow you managed to activate the panel with a magnet held to the i3. (which might explain why the red LED didn't come on. Did you forget about the former method?)

I always thought it was magnetic test since it seemed to work. Your comment made me curious, so I looked in the manual and you are correct - I don't see a magnetic test option at all! This is a four wire detector, so it has a relay contact. I'm wondering if I was able to pull that relays' contacts with the magnet, and that's why it didn't light the LED. Otherwise I have no idea to be honest with you - its been so long since this demo that I can hardly remember.

@@kcin556 To be honest some time back I thought that the pill-shaped area on a lot of System Sensor's detectors marked the magnet area, but it turns out that it usually indicates where you can test the detector with a sensitivity reader. There are some variants of the 2400 however that CAN be tested with a magnet. (I think it's mostly Fire-Lite/Notifier addressable rebrands of the 2400, & of course they don't have a screwdriver test because you can test them with a magnet instead) Perhaps it WAS because the magnet moved the relay enough.
