A tip for anyone else struggling to access the 'hidden' menu to select the parking brake maintenance position, you have to be in the Trip view on the dash, but also on the screen that shows mileage and not any other view (speed or Eco settings for instance). Not mentioned here or on any other video I've found and spent an hour struggling with this and cursing my car! Otherwise an excellent video that properly explains the process and gives all the correct spanner sizes and torque settings.

For those who has virtual/digital gauge, set display back to normal mode instead of speed/super, then you will be available to fiind the mantenance menu.

I have to say, this was a really good, well explained at every step video. However, I do have two comments on procedure. You did not show the part where you clean the new disc. Every disc I have replaced with new, came with a protective oily coating. Many people new to mechanics may not realise they need to clean them. Also, I have a similar comment about not cleaning the hub. I have only ever had it happen once, but it resulted in a warped disc. I couldn't understand how it would do it but a much more seasoned mechanic explained that any irregularity of surface on the mating faces of disc and hub can lead to a warped disc. So, I just clean everything of rust a debris to avoid problems. Again, I really liked the video. Thanks

Those look like fully coated rotors tho. If they’re fully coated no need for brake cleaner as they do not have protective oil. But I agree with you about the hub cleaning. I always clean with a brush!

this is changing your disks and pads on the hurry. clean the wheel hub, lubricate the guide pins, never-seize on the T30 bolt. so much left out.

I kept getting a "Rear Pad Fitting Not Fulfilled" message when trying to set the brakes into fitting position. How to fix: - Set the car into Accessory Mode - Make sure your dash is on Trip > Miles, so you can access the service screen, because my Telephone + OK button combo was not doing anything if it's not on that screen. - Release the parking brake (not mentioned in video, this is what fixed the problem) - Select Brake Pad Replacement - Press OK - You can now turn off the car. You do not need to keep it in Acc mode.

I wish you would of shown the complete job. Cleaning and relubricating the slide pins, and cleaning the slide pin bore, cleaning all the rust material off the caliper piston that is surely going to produce a vibration and uneven pressure on the pad, cleaning the brake pad slides (there was SO MUCH crap on there) and cleaning of the hub even though it was fairly clean already. Would of been 10/10 video.

You definitely do a wonderful job to explain the procedure of replacing brake pads and rotors. However, I didn't hear the part whether you have to turn off the ignition while changing the brakes, or you leave it on throughout the process. Charles Lungu.

I could not get into the 'Service Menu' to select fitting position. It just would not work. After numerous google searches I found guidance that said you must make sure your doors, hood, and trunk lid are closed. I had my trunk lid open which prevented me from entering the service menu. Once I closed the trunk, all worked as it should. Who knew?!

Just a tip, if possible, try to film these in one take, that way you don't need to sync audio and video for each clip. I don't know if i'm sensitive for audio/video out of sync situations, but that was pretty disturbing to see. Yes i know there will be pauses and stuff, but memory is pretty cheap nowadays, and you will save the effort to sync separate clips.
