I'm replacing plugs and coils on my 2015 228i with 95,000 soon as my parts arrive and after watching numerous videos feel confident. But this injector replacement is blowing my mind. Lmao for the reviewers saying it looks so simple! I have almost all the tools already, but man, that looks intimidating. Thanks for the video. I do agree that the music and sped up footage are not helpful.

Good vid, I had a mis motor idled real bad had 3 dealerships tell me timing chain and wanted over 7,000 to do the job, I was skeptical. Motor only had 13,000 miles on new motor. Changed everything I read on line, nothing worked so I bought new injectors, problem fixed. Bought the car from my sister, they had a new motor put in it at 66,00 miles. Issue started at 77,000 miles. So any bmw n20 probably will need new injectors around 75,000 miles.

Hey i have an n20 about 69k miles, i just ordered my injectors to keep up with maintenance but i noticed u said mechanics told u you had timing chain issues, was your car kindve jumping at acceleration from a standstill? or did u have any timing chain issue like symptoms? any check engine light?

(Look at my purchase history, normally hundreds of $ per month, as I’m a perfectionist who anticipates problems and repairs them beforehand.) 1. Stop using so must fast motion. To remove the injectors and reinstall I’m reading that if it takes more than 5nm of torque to remove it, the injector needs to be replaced. Why? Is it due to scoring the teflon tip? What actually goes ‘bad’ that you cant refresh the seals and reinstall? Can’t we just replace the teflon tip and washer? Thx

no need to if you are doing just injectors. You might need a diagnostic scan tool to reprogram injectors if they are all different values.

No you don’t I made the mistake of using it to installed them back and almost stripped two injectors. Great video and ez installed . You need a tool for the injectors coding is a must .

You should. The tool sets the initial depth of the injector in the bore. The clamp finishes it off. If you just push it with your hand, you might go too far, or not far enough, then it binds when you clamp it down with the retainer. That can cause issues down the road.

I need some help guys..i have a 2015 bmw 528i..i replaced thr valve cover gasket,before that everyhing was running fine but after i replaced a coil cause it was stuck in cylinder #4.i sprayed a lot of dw40 started the car and cylinder #4 wasnt working,unplugged #4 and saw no difference.i removed the spark plug and reinstalled it,nothimg change then i swaped coil 4 to coil 2 and 4 was still dead..i unplugged #4 fuel injector and #1 and now i have misfires in 1 and 4..i unplugged the injectors while car running

Great video! I had to do injector 4 when I got my car used at around 71,000KM as it was leaking slightly. I didn't use any compression tools for the teflon gasket that came with the new Bosch injector, was already installed. I see that you guys didn't use one either but I guess this was a bigger deal on previous models/revisions? Was easy enough to install by hand, too!

eu5 require programming the eu6 dont i think and is either or, meaning you cant swap eu5 for eu6 or eu6 ones for eu5

FCP team please confirm… I read elsewhere that if your production date is after 07/01/2013 it is always EU6. Also, select EU5 type if production date is before 7/1/2012 and EU6 with production date after 7/1/2012. Also might check with a flashlight if all the flow rates on the currently installed injectors are (215). If so, more likely its a EU6 type. As the video explains any EU5 type requires individual flow rates configured and readapted to computer.

When reinstalling the actual injector into the cylinder, how do you know its seated properly? Im assuming its not threaded. My inj in cyl6 keeps slightly vibrating up and down upon idle. Can anyone help please!!!

The injector will bottom out when you drop it in by hand, then the retaining plate will keep it from moving. If your injector is moving around, then your plate may be bent, or not installed correctly. We would highly advice not driving the vehicle until you can resolve that due to the fire hazard that can be.

Hi Tameka, there is a procedure you need to follow in order to determine which injector your vehicle requires: Per BMW service bulletin SI B13 03 15 the injectors in the vehicle may not match with what is listed in the BMW ETK. Identify the injector installed in the vehicle using ISTAD 4.04 or later test plan using the following path: Vehicle management - Service Functions - Powertrain - Engine Electronics - Injector Determination Test plan will state, "this engine required EU# injectors". This fuel injector is for vehicles with an EU6 designation and will not work on a vehicle with a different designation. On N55 vehicles high pressure pump identification is not required.

So the problem I'm having is finding a N26 injector puller that fits the EU6 injector. Do the N20 and N26 motor use the same puller ? I see a lot of the N20 / N55 puller on Amazon can I purchase one of those and still have the same results?

Yes. Not press. Rather set the depth into the cylinder. That's basically what you are doing when you follow the torque spec.

i have same issues right now on my cylinder 6, the fuel injector is seized, after many attempts, the fuel injector head snapped, i was able to remove the other 5 injectors without problem. So as of today, it's slightly moving side to side a little whenever i use a plier of screwdriver to create motion. it’s a year 2012 bmw x6 35i, am thinking of pouring BG PLATINUM Air Intake Valve & Combustion Chamber Cleaner on top of it to see if it can break it loose. I did try Penetrate fluid, WD40 but no success, will there be issues with hydroplaning since i sprayed few amount of those fluid on it for the past few days? any ideas? thanks.
