The early interior trim plastics that came with the 1992-1993 RX-7 FD3S have been a pain in my side since getting this car. They are easily scratched and look like junk. I’ve slowly replaced most of mine with newer texture plastics, but the only pieces I did not replace were the door card trim. In this video, I tackle the tedious process of using vinyl wrap to cover the plastic trim. I also upgrade the passenger door handle with a genuine leather cover. With these items done, I reassemble the door cards and get them prepped to go back into the car. This was a long process and took some trial and error to get the wrap to work on the tight curves on some of the trim. I am very happy with the finished product.
Big shoutout to @clayspec for the advice on the 3M DI-NOC carbon wrap. Give him a follow on Instagram to check out his awesome FD.
