For American trucks, Volvo, Mack & International are the only heavy truck manufacturers that use solid steel cabs. Volvo is the only truck manufacturer that offers a driver side airbag as standard equipment.

39:15 correction: Queensland is an Australian state, South Australia is a separate Australian state. Perhaps the narrator should have said “Queensland AND South Australia”. Also, at 39:17 that’s a Victorian (yet another Australian state) plate on the trailer! I’m feeling left out living in New South Wales… but loving this documentary.

Once the dynamic steering system has issues, such as the wrong camber angle, the steering becomes wobbly, it pulls trucks left or right randomly by itself.

Volvo and others have to develop electric drive trucks with regenerative braking. Yet a small battery and a diesel generator that fires up when battery power is below 20% or at highway speeds. This will give the best of both worlds, until newer battery technology has been developed. This will allow them to compete with Tesla. And provide long distance trucking with electric advantages today.

If you need it to do it for you , your not a real driver. You need more schooling.
@davidzettlemoyer8003
@davidzettlemoyer8003 4 ай бұрын
The problem with all this technology is the truckers are being harassed by safety departments and by personnel who knows nothing of driving a truck. The are taught front from CONTROLED information. Not REAL life situations. And the biggest hazard for trucks is 2 part. 1 , cars !! They don't follow the rules and do not pay attention and cut trucks off constantly and cause problems constantly. 2 , the lack of actual schooling. 4 weeks and they are a professional?? No way. They drive a truck like their personal vehicles, they have no idea of control . They can't back up in spots . The schooling needs to be increased to at least 9 months. In all 4 seasons in all weather. Yes technology is a good assistant but it CAN NOT FIGURE OUT REAL LIFE CONDITIONS OR ADAPT TO THEM. I have 25 years behind the wheel and I can perform better without the Truck taking control. That is a safety issue. Especially when in a corners when it throws the brakes on and will cause a roll over . The same when roads are wet or winter roads. It can NOT know what is really happening. And we are consistently criticized for our driving by safety for what the truck does. Not at all right. You need to seriously work with seasoned drivers NOT JUST ENGINEER'S. the do not have all the information.

Is Volvo going to Electric / Battery trucks Or Hydrogen Fuel Cell Or Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines ? In Arizona South East of Phoenix Arizona For the last few months , Nikola Trucks has been building and delivering , Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered Class 8 Heavy Duty Trucks ( the truck that pulls Trailers in Semis , 18 wheelers ) and Cummins Diesel , has Built a Hydrogen powered version of what was Used to be their Diesel Engine , in 2017 The American EPA will crack down on Pollution standards for Diesel Trucks, and make it hard to Build a Diesel engine that will comply with those Regulations

Why people have to suffer the consequences. Companies need to stop killing people and start building its own roads. It’s murder. 80,000 commercial vehicle vs a 4,000 vehicle 😅😢
