The FDIC doesn't have the authority to set it's own laws. No insurance company does.

my understanding is the proposal would have to be passed via act of Congress to modify the prioritization and applicable caps.

Targeted increased coverage? It’s 250k period. That’s it. Bank with good companies. The FDIC doesn’t have anywhere near the money or the authority to do any such thing. It’s total BS
