I know that Omaha is not NYC we were 10 minutes tops from fire house to the scene any where in the city. I just couldn't handle that Midtown BS.. I guess patience truly is a virtue..Good job guys and be safe.............

For every second they use waiting on a pedestrian, that's one second lost that could have been used to save a life. Pedestrians need to stay out of the way. I go to a lot of fire and police scenes, and when that fire engine rolls through, I'm on the sidewalk immediately.

Hey Ace Iv'e noticed in a lot of the clips the Engineer that is driving the truck is holding is hand outside of the truck and or has it where the window is? I think its for like telling Traffic where to go, Sry i'm not from NY, and Iv'e only noticed them doing it in NY, lol sry if this is a stupid question :P

What is the rig marked with the blue R and the 1 on the back? Is that a mobile command? And I also gotta say, those drivers are some serious pros needling through that traffic.

That is rescue 1. There are 5 of them in nyc, one for each borrogh. They respond to all all hands or greater fire and they carry specialized rescue equipment for fires, accidents, collapses and water rescues. They were originally formed to rescue injured firemen at fires but over time we're giving more roles.
