FDNY Units Respond Urgently During Rush Hour Traffic to a Confirmed Person Pinned On the Manhattan Bridge Subway Tracks. Squad 1 used their New Federal Q siren recently acquired within the past few months to urgently get through the traffic and onto the bridge.

Q sirens are getting more and more popular again just like the old days with the FDNY, they have the option now to have them when they order new trucks. EQ2B's are starting to phase out and the City Board doesn't listen to noise complaints about the Q's, Model 28's, and other mechanical siren's that the FDNY uses anymore.

@@owensweetland342 Yes, it's also handy to have have a cinderblock or a brick nearby so if you get stuck in traffic you can hammer the Q and air horns.

The sound a mechanical Q makes is the equivalent of someone screaming "GET THE F*CK OUT OF THE WAY!"

GOOD! I never liked the EQ2B, though it's not a bad siren, just never liked the obvious difference in sound. To me, the classic sound of a fire engine is the old Whelen HF siren tone, a Federal Q2B and deep air horns. Its a combo that just makes everyone get the hell out of the way.

Yeah it’s really awesome, they got the Q & train horn at around the sametime. Earlier this year.

@@Fdnyrigs Yeah, well I've only seen Rav4's, Crown Vics (sadly now gone), Corollas, Camrys, Prisues, (Probaby Prius V or C as well) and that it. Seeing a lot of ones like Honda Accords or Honda CRVs, are pretty uncommon if not hard to find, so seeing something like that is quite neat

I don’t have a lot of information regarding what happend afterwords, but what I do know is they last reported the person was removed and in the hands of ems. Nothing on the news or on the radio stating doa so I believe the person is alright.

It's not very often you see the FDNY using the standard Q2B, they normally use the wail siren or EQ2B, and a lot of those times with the rumbler.

i live right in between rescue 4, squad 288, and hazmat 1 in queens and dude i hear these guys coming out of the station with those Q's. it's fun listening to it get closer and closer and then they come flying LOL. R4 driver is a maniac compared to the others from what i've seen hahahah
