Here FE 2024. I just passed the FE Exam on my first attempt. I can be more proud. Thanks so much MARK for all the Free useful videos that you have put on this channel. These resources were instrumental in my preparation journey. I would like to give a few tips to future people planning to take the FE. Initially, I started my preparation on Mark's channel, but I found some of the problems to be quite challenging. Seeking additional guidance, I explored various channels until I stumbled upon @Genie Prep. Her channel features a comprehensive playlist covering all the subjects outlined in the FE specifications, except for the construction part. Working through problems alongside her, I found clarity and deeper understanding. Returning to Mark's channel after engaging with Genie Prep's content, everything made so much sense. Both channels emphasize effective utilization of the handbook, which proved to be immensely beneficial in grasping key concepts. In my opinion, the combination of Mark's and Genie Prep's channels is sufficient for passing the FE exam. However, for those seeking further familiarity with the exam format, I recommend practicing with NCEES practice exams, as I did.

I don't normally comment, but I wanted to say thank you so much Mark for your helpful FE Review videos. They hold up extremely well even in 2024, as I just got my results back and passed my FE on my first attempt. Thank you so much! In case this helps anyone, I took the exam 6 months after i graduated, and what I did to prepare for this exam was watch every video in Mark's Review playlist for 2022 twice. The first time was to see the problems and see how he solves them, following along with all the calculations. After completing the playlist once, I went through all the videos a second time, but this time solving each problem before he begins working them out. If i got stuck, I would just watch the video to remind myself what the process was for each question. After reviewing his videos, I took a practice exam. This was extremely helpful because the format is ever so slightly different than Mark's; mainly in how they phrase each question, so I would definitely recommend buying a practice exam too. Overall I would say Mark's questions are much harder than those that would appear on the FE. In my opinion though they are the most helpful resource in studying for this exam because he has you solve for almost every variable in every problem type, where the FE will only ask for one variable per question if that makes sense. Good luck to anyone taking this exam in the future, just wanted to share my experience to encourage people in the future, and also let you know this review is still valid and helpful for the exam 2 years later! Mark, thank you again for you generosity in sharing this with us all.

For Question #8 you can go to page 39 where area of parabola is listed. With this you can split the shape into the 8x6 = 48 m^2 rectangle and create a parabolic shape where the [ A = (2*b*h)/3 ] and b = 8 and h = 6 where A = 32 m^2. Using these two areas you also get 80m^2 which was much faster and easier.

Solivng question #20 using the TI-36X Pro calculator: Press 2nd stat-reg/distr. Go-to DISTR tab. Select #5 for Binomialcdf. Input: x = Single | Trials = 5 | P(Success) = 60% or 0.6 | x = 3 Select Calc. You'll get 0.66304 (the same value as from the table shown in the video. Take 1-0.66304 = 0.33696 or ~34%.

This would be amazing to know how to use, just 2 questions: Where did you get x=3? What is the difference between the options 4. & 5. under the DISTR tab?

For question 8, you could "complete/close" the rectangle and get an area of 12m*8m=96m^2 Then find the area of the bottom right parabola you get when "completing/enclosing" the shape into a rectangle by using the formula A=b*h/3 on page 39 of the most recent FE Reference book. This results in an area of 8m*6m/3=16m^2. After doing so you take 96m^2 - 16m^2 = 80m^2

39:24 for question 8 it is easier to cut the shape into a square and then use that first parabola area formula. 6x8 for the top square =48. Then A=2bh/3 for the leftover area and you get 32 for a total of 80m^2. Much easier than turning it into a trapezoid

For question 5: It's more intuitive to me to multiple CosX by Cosx/Cosx to get CosX as the common denominator, then you have Cos2x + Sin2x =1, or 1/Cosx = Secx. Fewer steps and easy to head towards from the start.

I just don't get problem #7. I understand similar triangles, but this one is complicated for me. Anyone have an additional resource I can watch?
@sheed28199 ай бұрын
i dont get that one too, did you find anything on it?
@1crida18 ай бұрын
@@sheed2819 I just saw this. I did figure it out. #1) Take triangle ABC. The only side missing is BC. Use pythagoreas theorem to find BC = 13. #2) Using similarity between the triangles, you can prove that ABM ~ CBA (They're similar triangles). #3) Because they're similar, you can set-up ratios between the relationship of their sides to solve for the missing lengths. The first length, for example, would be solved with the following ratio: BM/BA = AB/CB => Solve for missing side, BM = 25/13. #4) At this point, you could use two more sets of ratios to solve for AM and CM. For the sake of time, you might have realized that the only answer that contains 25 is B. #5) If you found all similar sides, the denominator for all three is 13 so you can just multiply it out of the ratio to get the answer is B, 60:25:144. If you want additional help, this video from Khan Academy contains a similar problem: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqO2ZpKiYsyeb5Y
