The reason the fps might change the backjump is if the code is using runservice which means the higher your fps the faster the code most likely a loop checking if your climbing or something then giving an appropriate velocity

Thanks for explaining why I can’t do a backjump without a FPS unlocker. I have a old laptop that I play on, so it wouldn’t really effect me if I got one (I usually run on 40-60 fps), but I thought I kept failing them because I was bad at the game lol.

most of the backjumps can be still easily done on 60 fps, you juat need to get used to the backjumps

On platforms it's still very inconsistent though, because you get the backjump on the third frame of impact when holding spacebar. On 60 fps that means you spend 0.05 seconds in the platforn before backjumping and on 240 fps that is only 0.0125 seconds. In 0.05 seconds you can lose alot of horizontal speed. On 60 fps you have to make sure you keep holding W when doing the backjump, whereas on higher fps you can release spacebar earlier.

When holding spacebar you pretty much always get it on the 3rd frame, maybe you could time a jump to get it first frame but that would literally be a frame-perfect trick (only a 0.004 second time window on 240 fps) so definitely not recommended. My main tip and the point I'm trying to make in this video: make sure you have 20 forward horizontal momentum at the time of your backjump and learn how NOT to lose momentum when backjumping into a platform or a beam.

I can't teach you how to do a backjump because all it is, is jumping from a climbing position. This video is about explaining how to get the best backjumps by explaining how they work. At 4:12 I explain that your torso needs to be in line with the platform to get into a climbing position and you know that you need as much horizontal momentum as possible. Thus: aim for where your torso hits the platform, hold spacebar and make sure you have forward momentum. I don't really see any other way to put it.

You are stuck on 60 fps on mobile, which like I said makes it hard due to there not being enough frames in a second. It's still possible but a lot more inconsistent. The way to make it more consistent is to go a little further backwards and keep holding forwards into the backjumpable platform when doing a fast backjump.
